KARACHI, May 28: Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, Adviser to the Sindh CM on Home and Coordination, accompanied by Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid, inspected various prisons in Karachi on Wednesday and directed the officers concerned to ensure proper implementation of government schemes being initiated for the welfare of inmates.

He asked the IG Prisons to pay more attention to the improvement in existing facilities besides ensuring appropriate and transparent utilization of donations received from philanthropists and NGOs for the betterment of prisoners.

Mr Shaikh discussed with the IG and jail officials the issues of prisoners' production in courts, grant of remission and parole facilities as pointed out by the inmates.-
