Home minister to visit new Sabzi Mandi
KARACHI: Senior Home Minister Sindh, Syed Sardar Ahmad will visit new Sabzi Mandi on Wednesday to inquire about the problems being faced by the traders. A delegation of the traders on Tuesday called on the minister and informed him about their grievances especially regarding power supply and entrance fee. The delegation urged the need of provision of separate meters to all shopkeepers so that they could easily pay the power bills. Besides the delegation also protested over the "exorbitant rates" of entrance fee fixed by the Market Committee Karachi (MCK) for different vehicles. The senior minister assured the delegation that he would issue orders to address their problems and would visit the Mandi on Wednesday. It is pertinent to note here that the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) on Tuesday restored the power supply to the new Sabzi Mandi. The power supply to the Mandi was disconnected on April 22 due to the non-payment of outstanding dues.
