MQM announced Day of Mourning
Four MQM
sympathisers have been brutally killed by armed terrorists
in Pukhtun dominated area of Banaras Colony Karachi on
Friday night.
According to details, different residents of Qasba Colony
were going back to their homes on their vehicles, at Banaras
Bridge; armed terrorists fired them with automatic weapons.
Three MQM supporters Wasim Ahmed ( age 50 ), Hasan Ahmed (
age 14 ), Sami Kamal ( age 24 ),were died on the spot and
Kamal Ud din ( age 22 ), Nazim ( age 31 ) and Jamal Ud din (
age 30 ) were seriously injured. But Kamal Ud din could not
survive and died in the hospital. Other injured are in
critical condition. Wasim Ahmed and Hasan are father and
son.
MQM Central Coordination Committee has strongly condemned
this massacre and termed it barbarism and naked aggression.
MQM announced a Day of Mourning and appealed to the
businessmen, traders and shopkeepers of Karachi to shut
their shops and business. Quran khawani will be held in all
parts of Pakistan for the diseased.

deplored and strongly condemned the assault and brutal
torture on the woman assistant presiding officer and the
polling staff by a woman candidate in the by-election for PS
– 53 Tando Muhammad Khan of Sindh Assembly. Mr Hussain said
that the manner in which women polling staff was subjected
to physical violence was highly reprehensible and he was
personally grieved on the incident. He said that the
incident of violence cannot be condoned on any precept of
democratic, social, and ethical norm. He stressed upon the
Federal Government, Chief Election Commissioner and
Provincial Election Commissioner to take serious notice of
subjecting the women polling staff to assault and violence.

extremely sorrowful on the indictment of Prime Minister
Yousuf Raza Gilani in the contempt of court case. Commenting
on the situation developing in the country Mr Hussain said,
“I am very disappointed at what has happened today.” Mr
Hussain said that he had been saying continually that the
institutions must show respect and dignity for each other
and avoid confrontation under all conditions. Now that the
prime minister has been formally indicted, the government
should show deference to the court proceeding by displaying
patience and firmness. Any hasty action that reflecting

current disturbing political situation developing in the
country, the founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement
(MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that confrontation must be
avoided at all cost. He said that he had been appealing to
all the stakeholders to show patience and restraint and work
toward mutual understanding for pulling the country out of
the serious crises and difficulties. He said the situation
developing in the country had increased his apprehensions
and this might lead to political martyrdoms in the near

Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashidi and offered condolences on the
death of his father and spiritual leader of the Hurs Shah
Mardan Shah Pir Sahib Pagara. He said that Pir Pagara was a
national asset, and the vacuum created by his passing away
would not be filled easily. The sacrifices rendered by the

has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise
of the spiritual leader of the Hurs and the president of
Pakistan Muslim League Functional Pir Sahib Pagara. In a

veteran politician who had played an important role in the

political history of the country has come to an end with the
