Altaf Hussain has endorsed the decision of the Co-ordination Committee to observe the Solidarity Day
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) will observe Friday 23 November, the 8 Muharram according to the Islamic Calendar as the Solidary Day with the helpless people of Gaza. Peaceful demonstrations will be held after the Friday prayers by the MQM in order to express solidarity with the oppressed and helpless people of Gaza. This decision was taken in a meeting of the Co-ordination Committee. Mr Altaf Hussain, the founder and leader of the MQM, has endorsed the decision to observe the solidarity day.
Talking to the Co-ordination Committee at Nine Zero, Mr Hussain said that he knew well some people did not like his forceful position on the Israeli aggression and atrocities in Gaza and the martyrdom of innocent Palestinian children and they started conspiring against the MQM. “I do not care about anyone, and I will continue to condemn the oppression of the helpless people of Gaza or living anywhere else in the world.”
Endorsing the decision of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Hussain appealed to the people of Pakistan to observe Friday, the 8 Muharram as a day of solidarity with the people of Gaza. He asked them to hold peaceful demonstrations in their cities and tell the people of Palestine that they were not alone. Let them know that the people of Pakistan were strongly with them.
