PM Nawaz Sharif Must Let the Nation Know Publicly what Plans his Government is Undertaking to Combat Relentless Terrorism
London – January 21, 2014
MQM leader Altaf Hussain has condemned the bomb blast at a pilgrim’s bus in Mastung area of Balochistan province in strongest possible terms. In a press statement, Mr Altaf Hussain said that Taliban terrorists and their terrorist allies have been carrying out bomb blasts in the country relentlessly for the last few days resulting in the deaths of many personnel of Pakistan army, police and scores of civilians, including women and children. He regretted that despite such large scale loss of lives and property, the government has yet to announce, let alone, take any meaningful action against the perpetrators.
Mr Hussain said that Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif and his colleagues are merely issuing statements of condemnation, instead of taking any concrete step against the Taliban and their terrorist allies.
The MQM leader demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to address the nation on national TV and radio in the next 24 hours and let the nation know what concrete plans his government has undertaken to combat the menace of Taliban inflicted terrorism. Mr Hussain expressed fears that should the government fail to take any meaningful action against Taliban terrorists, the undeterred TTP would soon convert its un-announced supremacy over the country into a declared rule over Pakistan. He said that once the Taliban have taken over the country through unlawful force, they would force every citizen of the country to abide by the Taliban version of Islamic shariah, would kill those who would disobey, turn nation’s women as their concubines and males into their slaves.
Mr Altaf Hussain stated that Taliban would also blast the tombs of Pakistan’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal in order to remove every remnant of the founders of Pakistan.
Mr Altaf Hussain also expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the aggrieved families and said he and all members and supporters of MQM stand by the victims of these mindless acts of terrorism. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
