The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr.Altaf Hussain presided over an extra ordinary emergency meeting to discuss political and organizational issues, ongoing cases in London and overall situation at national and international level.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, it is said that the discussion ended up with a conclusion to make Nadeem Nusrat as Convener of MQM and announced a 9-member Supreme Council after party Chief’s approval respectively. The Council will be comprised of Convener Nadeem Nusrat, Senior Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar, Barrister Dr Faroogh Nasim, Senator Nasreen Jalil, Kanwar Naveed, Rauf Siddiqui, Babar Khan Ghouri, Ms Kishwar Zahra and Iftikhar Hussain.
The meeting categorically mentioned that the current Coordination Committee would continue working with the same capacity, while MQM Chief suggested all his followers to ensure unity among them. He said everyone should believe that MQM would continue to maintain its struggles for the rights of deprived people, empowerment of LG system and provision of justice in Pakistan.
