I apologize if my words have hurt national security institutions and patriotic people
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has said that speech made by him the previous night has been taken out of context. “I had talked about getting help from RAW in a sarcastic manner. However, I apologize from the core of my heart if my words have hurt the feelings of national security institutions and patriotic people of the country.”
“Pakistan is our country, and it remain our country. Our life and death are tied with Pakistan.”
“I also want to make it clear that the Mohajirs have no relations with any other country other than Pakistan.”
Mr Hussain said he never intended to disparage the government or any respected institution but regretted that his speech was not fully understood and it was considered completely out of the context.
Mr Hussain said, “Our forefathers had offered the sacrifice of 2 million lives for Pakistan, and we are their descendants. We are loyal to Pakistan and will remain true to our words in spite of hardships being faced by Mohajirs and injustices done to them.”
Mr Hussain said that the MQM had organized the largest rally in support of the Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists. “I had saluted the Pak Army in front of hundreds of thousands of people. I will continue to respect Pakistan Army.”
Mr Hussain said it was natural to feel hurt at the allegations of enmity to the country when the arrested people were shown on television as agents of RAW, and the MQM was falsely implicated.
Mr Hussain said, “I had stated it clearly in my address that Pakistan is our country, and we will not immigrate to any other land now.”
“Do not bring a question mark on the loyalty of Mohajirs and refrain from using contemptuous remarks against them. This should end once and for all.”
Mr Hussain said, “I would appeal not to denigrate 40 million patriotic Mohajirs. I pray Almighty Allah to enable us to work for Pakistan with complete sincerity.”
Mr Hussain also appealed to media to publish and broadcast his clarification completely.
