Karachi – 28th September 2005: MQM Founder & Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has stated, “Our politics is to serve humanity, therefore, those with no passion to serve the public must quit Muttahida Quami Movement”. He was addressing a huge gathering of MQM workers and KKF volunteers over the phone from London. The gathering was organized in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Thatta, Badin, Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana, Khairpur, Sanghar, Noshero Feroze, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Qambar and Shahdadkot.
Mr. Hussain explained that worship can be of two kinds, one comes under Rights of Allah Almighty and the other is for the rights of public and service to humanity. The Allah Almighty can forgive neglect in the first kind of worship but He will not forgive those who have usurped the rights of His people. The Allah Almighty is fond of those who serve the humanity because there is no worship more than serving the humanity. The biggest hypocrisy is heavily worshiping the Allah Almighty but not fulfilling the rights towards the people. He said, “The mission of our politics is not personal interests and acquiring plots and permits but to serve the people, struggle for the rights of deprived and serve the poor. For the past 28 years, the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) has been continuously and providing service to poor and needy irrespective of their colour, creed, language, area, nationality, sex, sect and even religion. The KKF does not discriminate on the basis of colour, creed, language, nationality, religion or belief but the only criteria are the needs and problems of the person. The volunteers of KKF have provided relief indiscriminately to those affected by flood, train or bus accident or any other natural calamity. No other political or religious party of the country serves the people like the KKF does because our aim is to struggle for the rights of deprived and to serve the humanity. The other religious and political parties raise slogans in the name of Allah and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) but practically do nothing to serve the people. Their actions are un-Islamic and un-ethical because if we fail to feed the hungry, help the needy and indiscriminately serve the people then our worship is worth nothing. He prayed to Almighty Allah for support so as to enable us to provide practical help to each and every person and to alleviate their grievances. He expressed his wish that under the banner of KKF he wants to see the establishment of ambulance centres, dispensaries and health centres in Sindh and throughout the country where the poor and needy can be provided with assistance. This can become a reality when the KKF can have further resources, which can be achieved through the collection of zakat and fitra campaign. He appealed to all the workers, volunteers, mothers, sisters and elders to collect zakat and fitra. On this occasion he also advised not to collect the zakat and fitra by compulsion because use of force is not the teachings of the MQM and the people voluntary donate zakat and fitra. He instructed the workers to contact the public and thank everyone whether they donate or not and to show respect to them as this is the way MQM operates in line with the teachings of Islam.
