MQM ESTABLISHES CENTRES IN NEW YORK AND WASHINGTON TO DIRECT RELIEF OPERATIONS FOR THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF THE ATTACK ON AMERICA

On the appeal and instructions of Mr Altaf
Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM),
the units of the MQM in New York City and Washington mobilised
its workers and the community to join hands and work shoulder to
shoulder with the American people in their hours of unprecedented
crisis stemmed from the Attack on America by the
terrorists.
Terrorism is an abhorrent evil and the humanity stands challenged by this evil. It is a duty of the people of the world, international community and the civil societies to confront this evil to eradicate it from all the corners of the world.
The office bearers of the MQM units and its charitable and social offshoot, the KKF offered its services to the Red Cross Centres, Salvation Army and other Social and Charitable organisations in New York State and Washington D.C.
A delegation headed by Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Deputy Convenor of the MQM and a former Federal Minister of Pakistan assisted by Mohammad Arif Siddiqui, former Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh province and a Member of the MQM Co-ordination Committee visited several hospitals and the offices of the Red Cross to organise donation of blood by the workers of the MQM and the community.
Dr. Walston, Deputy Director, Patient Relations
Department of the Queens General Hospital met the MQM delegation
who was informed about the social and charitable activities of
the KKF.
Dr Walston was overwhelmed by the sentiments of the MQM workers
and followers and thanked them personally for the donations.
Hundreds of the MQM followers are queuing up at the MQM Centres to register their names to donate the blood and other relief materials.
The MQM women workers and followers are also registering their names in the list of donors.
The MQM office bearers sent condolence messages to
the U S Government in Washington, U S Department of State, Mayor
of the New York State and the people of America.
Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui along with his delegation visited the Red Cross Centre in the Queens where he assured all the co-operation from the MQM, its workers and followers.
Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also visited the New York Blood Centre situated at 310 E, 67th. Avenue. The visiting delegation under the leadership of Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui who was assisted by Arif Siddiqui comprised of Mr Tayyab Hussain, Asad Hussain and others.
In New Jersey, a delegation headed by Ms. Tehreem
Hussain visited Hospitals and Red Cross Centres while Mr Arshad
Hussain was active in Philadelphia.
Mr Tayyab Hussain was also in contact with the American Authorities briefing them about the MQM activities.
Mr Ibad-ur-Rahman, a prominent Attorney and Member of the MQM Organising Committee in the United States of America was leading the MQM team in Washington D C where he is driving a major campaign of blood donations. He visited INOVA Hospital in Metropolitan D C where he met Dr John Moran, In-Charge of the Emergency Cell.
Mr Ibad-ur-Rahman assured Dr Moran of total co-operation of the MQM and its followers who are donating their blood to save the lives of the victims and to overcome any emergency, the United States may confront as a result of the terrorists Attack on America.
The MQM International Secretariat in
London constituted a TEAM in London comprising of Mr Tariq Jawaid,
former MQM Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and a
Member of the Co-ordination Committee, Mr Ahsanullah Khan, a
former MQM Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh Province a
Provincial Local Bodies Minister in Sindh province, Mr
Khalilullah, a former MQM Member of the Provincial Assembly of
Sindh and Mr Javed Kazmi, a Member of the Co-ordination Committee.
All the centres will be co-ordinating and reporting their
activities to the above-mentioned Team. A Member of the
International Secretariat also contacted Dr John Moran and
assured all the co-operation of the MQM in this hours of crisis
faced by the people of America as a result of the direct Attack
on America by the terrorists.
