TIME HAS COME THAT WHOLE NATION SHOULD UNITE AND BECOME SOLID WALL AGAINST TERRORISM

London 6^th October 2008…Founder & Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has asked the government that for the safety, security and solidarity of the country immediately round table conference of all political parties be called and their views be obtained, to combat the challenge of terrorism so that the country could get out of this threat. He was addressing a meeting at MQM International Secretariat in London, the members of Coordination Committee, Haq Parast members of Parliament, Provincial Ministers, and members of Sindh Assembly and various members of the organizational wings  attended the meeting.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that Pakistan is passing through a very critical stage, whole country is under the threat of terrorism and dangers are hovering over our border. He said the situation on borders depends on the relations with neighbours, but unfortunately relation of Pakistan with neighbouring countries India, Afghanistan, Iran and china are not seen as cordial and friendly. It has been said that friendship with China is higher than Himalaya, but China is seriously annoyed on the interference in its Muslim majority province Sing kiang, due to which the confidence in relations has become doubtful. He said that during cold war Pakistan’s armed forces, intelligence agencies and political parties, specially the religious parties, cooperated in the war against USSR, as if it was not the occupation of Afghanistan but Pakistan. Russia is still very annoyed with Pakistan on the disintegration of USSR.

Mr Altaf Hussain said, for many years Pakistan on its relationship has been trusting USA. But now the trust of USA on Pakistan has shaken and mistrust has increased, due to which the situation is very critical. Attacks on Pakistani soil have continued, country is in the garb of terrorism and due to this Pakistan on its deathbed. He said that under these serious situations principally all political/religious parties should be on one platform. He said that for the sake of security, solidarity of the country a round table conference of all political & religious parties be convened. There suggestions and advices be obtained to counter the critical and dangerous situation of the country.

Mr Altaf Hussain said to the member of MQM coordination Committee and Member of Parliament to meet the President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani and asked them that it is need of the time to take Mr Nawaz Sharif along. It is also responsibility of Mr Nawaz Sharif for the sake of unity in the country to keep his differences at the back. In this serious situation he should extend his full cooperation with the government. He said terrorism is being spread like cancer, daily suicide bombing are taking place in the country and holi is being played with the blood of the innocent people.

Now time has come that not only political parties but the whole nation should stand like a solid wall against the epidemic of this cancer, because without the support of nation country’s army cannot be successful. The army can only achieve success when it has full confidence and support of its nation morally and practically. He said that government should invite all political/religious parties leaders to get their workers mobilise against terror which is faced by the country. Mr Altaf Hussain said that to counter the terrorism and for self defence the people should also make arrangements to protect themselves beside the actions of government and security forces.
