THE
CAUSE OF SINDH IS NOT DEAR TO BENAZIR -- MQM
CENTRAL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE
Karachi-31
October 2002
The Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement
(MQM) have expressed their regrets on the statement of the Chairperson of the
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Ms. Benazir Bhutto. In a statement issued by the
MQM, the Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee said that they
negotiated with the PPP in the larger interests of Sindh despite the extra judicial
killings and atrocities committed during the tenure of the PPP. They said that
instead of expressing regrets on the killings and atrocities, Ms. Benazir Bhutto
held the MQM responsible, which, is not only regrettable but unprincipled as
well. They added that it seems that the interests of Sindh and her people is not
dear to Ms. Benazir Bhutto.
The Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee said that the MQM is a principled party and simply had no desire or greed for power. They further added that the collective interests of Sindh and her people is dear to the MQM and it will never make any decision against the will and wish of the people.
