MQM SOUGHT PUBLIC OPINION WHETHER TO JOIN COALITION GOVERNMENTS OR SIT IN OPPOSITION

Quami Movement (MQM) has sought opinion whether to join coalition governments on
Federal and Provincial levels or not from the public. The Central Co-ordination
Committee had consulted the founder and leader Mr Altaf Hussain in this regard.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that making decision concerning joining coalition
governments on Federal and Provincial Levels or sitting in the opposition is the
duty of the Central Co-ordination Committee. He, however, suggested to the
Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee to seek the opinion of the people
in general and workers and supporters in particular in this regard and in view
of their opinion, decision be taken.
The
Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee in view of the advice of Mr Altaf
Hussain has requested the workers and sympathetic people to advice the MQM
whether to join coalition governments on Federal and Provincial levels or sit on
the opposition benches under the present circumstances.
The
Central Co-ordination Committee has requested the workers and sympathetic people
to send their views by the 23rd. October 2002. Boxes would be placed
in Sector and Zonal offices in the entire Sindh along with a box at the Central
Office of the MQM commonly known as “Nine Zero” in Azizabad, Karachi. People
can also send their opinion through faxes and emails to “Nine Zero” or the
