EMOTIONAL SCENES AT THE FUNERAL PRAYERS OF DR IMRAN FAROOQ IN LONDON

The funeral prayer of MQM Convener and martyr of revolution Dr. Imran Farooq shaheed was offered today in a mosque in West Hendon, a suburb of London. MQM founder and leader Altaf Hussain, father of Dr. Imran Farooq, Farooq Ahmed, his two brother in laws, Deputy Convener of MQM Dr. Farooq Sattar, members of Co-ordination Committee Tariq Jawed, Salim Shahzad, Anis Advocate, Muhammad Anwer, Syed Tariq Mir, Raza Haroon, Mustafa Kamal, Wasay Jalil, Mustafa Azizabadi, Qasim Ali Raza, Asif Siddiqui, Deputy Parliamentary Leader in National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi, High Commissioner of Pakistan in UK Mr. Wajid Shamsul Hassan, Deputy High Commissioner Asif Ali Durrani, renowned artist Omar Sharif, Human Rights activist Ansar Burney, Organizer of MQM UK Dr. Salim Danish, members of MQM International Secretariat, UK Organizing Committee and office-bearers of Peoples Party UK attended the funeral.

A large number workers and supporter of MQM in UK and members of Pakistani community also attended the funeral in large numbers. MQM workers from Norway and Belgium also attended the funeral. The widow of Dr. Imran Farooq, his sons, mother, sisters and women workers of International Secretariat were also present in the mosque during the funeral prayer.

Emotional scenes were witnessed during the funeral service. Mr. Altaf Hussain offered special prayers for the deceased leader. He broke down during the prayer and wept bitterly. He was overwhelmed with grief. He later condoled with the brothers-in-law of Dr. Farooq. MQM workers and office bearers offered their condolences to the father of Dr. Imran Farooq. Women sympathized with the widow and mother of Dr. Farooq.

The dead body of Dr. Imran Farooq has been kept in the mortuary at West Hendon Islamic Centre. His body will be sent to Pakistan on Friday at 9 pm UK time to Pakistan.

ALTAF HUSSAIN PAYS RICH TRIBUTES TO DR IMRAN FAROOQ

Mr. Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has said that the sacrifices made by the MQM Convenor Dr. Imran Farooq for the movement would always be remembered. Mr. Hussain was talking to the media after offering the funeral prayer of Dr. Imran Farooq Shaheed in London. Paying rich tributes to Dr. Imran Farooq he said, “He spent his entire life facing hardships, problems and difficult times. He always strived for the progress and prosperity of the movement; and even at the time when State functionaries were looking for him everywhere. However, despite all the hardships and in the face of trials and tribulations he remained steadfast. His sacrifices and struggles cannot be expressed in words. They have become a part of history.” Remembering Dr Imran Farooq, Mr. Hussain said that he sacrificed his life for the movement and proved true to his words.

Mr. Hussain prayed for the soul of the Dr. Imran Farooq. He said that he and his colleagues were satisfied with the investigation of Metropolitan Police and other investigating agencies. He hoped that the investigating agencies will find the murderers. He said that he was very grieved at not being able to attend the burial of Dr. Imran Farooq in Pakistan. “It cannot be expressed in words.”
