ALTAF STEALS THE SHOW

 

NEW DELHI---(Nov  7, 2004) -The MQM Founder Leader Mr Altaf Hussain by his outspokenness had stole the show at the international conference which concluded here Saturday evening.

 

Luminaries like Henry Kissinger, Manmohan Singh, Chandrika Kumaratunga, John Major, Sonia Gandhi, and Hans Blix were some of the speakers. Commenting on Mr Hussain’s speech, Hindustan Times wrote that the MQM leader’ discourse was forthright and extraordinary in character. Well known Indian journalist and TV compere Kiran Thapar while calling Altaf Hussain to the dias, described him as a “unique personality” and told the audience that Mr Hussain’s stepping on South Asian soil after 12 long years, had impressed the people with his beautiful choice of words and poetry.

 

The Vice President of the social organization of Bihar and UP Y C Agarwal, remarked that while the approach and speeches of all other participants were traditional in character, the approach and speech of Altaf Hussain was unique. He said he would have been happy if Mr Hussain could visit Bihar also. Mr Agarwal described Mr Hussain’s speech as coming from the bottom of his heart. The Chief of Indo-Pakistan Friendship Association Arun Mehta said that the voice of Altaf Hussain was the voice of his soul. Ideas propounded by him could effect changes in the world.

 

Many delegates said that they had never heard such soul stirring speech. One of the delegates said that Mr Hussain was known in India for his views and thinking and translated his comments into following couplet: Mulk mein baad-I-bahari chal ki ayee hai, London se Karachi Ki  sawari chal ki ayee hai”.
