Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has welcomed the positive announcement made by
President General Pervez Musharraf during the meeting of National Security
Council today including the holding of general elections on schedule,
assurances of removing his uniform as announced, lifting of emergency as
soon as the situation improves and the restoration of the Constitution as
reassuring decision. In his statement Mr Hussain said that as a result of
these positive announcements, all those whose minds were confused and those
who were relating the present circumstances to extreme uncertainty; their
reservations and fears should now be removed. Mr Hussain further appealed to
all the political and religious parties that for the sake of holding the
peaceful general elections, respect each other, do away with confrontational
politics and support the present government and President General Pervez
Musharraf so that emergency can be lifted, constitution restored and
elections are held on schedule. Mr Hussain personally paid tributes to

situation faced by the country, all the coalition partners in the Government
should with all sincerity struggle together to bring the country out of

Karachi, 02 September 2007: Mohtarma Mafia Khatoon, mother of Senior Member
of MQM Co-ordination Committee, Saleem Shahzad passed away in Karachi on
Saturday night, the 2nd. September 2007. She was 92 years old and suffering
from heart disease since long. She was living in Gulistan-e-Johar with her
elder son. She left behind three sons and a daughter. Having received the
information of her death, Members of the MQM Co-ordination Committee, Wasay
Jalil, Town Nazim Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Elected representatives of the MQM
and other Office bearers congregated at her residence to condole the
bereaved family members and recite the Holy Quran for her salvation.
Meanwhile

expressed his profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the family

Hassan Musanna Alvi passed away in a local hospital in Karachi today after
being seriously ill for some time. Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder & Leader,
has expressed his shock and heartfelt condolences to the family members. He
said that the services, dedication and commitment to the cause and
sacrifices of Mr Alvi for the MQM, particularly during the testing times
will always be remembered.
His funeral prayers will be offered at the Jinnah
Ground in Azizabad, Karachi tomorrow, i.e. 29th July 2007, after Asar
Prayers and the burial will take place at the Shuhuda Graveyard in Federal B
Area, Azizabad, Karachi.

severely condemned the attack at Zilla Katchari in Islamabad and termed it as a naked terrorism and said
that it deserves severest condemnation. He further said that he is dismayed
and profoundly saddened on this tragedy. He prayed to Almighty Allah to
place the souls of the dead in Jannat-ul-Firduas (Heaven) and grant strength
to the bereaved family members to endure the tragic loss of the lives of
their loved once who lost their lives in this cowardly terrorists’ attack.

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami
Movement (MQM) has severely condemned the attack on the President aircraft
while he was flying to Turbat to monitor the flood affected areas. He
thanked Almighty Allah that he was safe in the attack. He further added that
the perpetrators are neither deserves to be called Pakistani nor do they
have belief in Islam or humanity, therefore, every Pakistani must condemn
this abhorrent act.
Mr Altaf Hussain appealed to the Administration and the people at the helms
of affair of the Lal Masjid that in the name of humanity and for sake of the
Almighty Allah and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to free the detained women and
children at Madrassah-e-Hafsa. He further said that the teachings of
Almighty Allah and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) not to harm elders, innocent
children and women even in the state of war, nor can they be detained under
duress or used as a human shield or as fuel to serve personal interests. |

instituted by the Government to support the relief activities and
restoration process in the flood affected areas of the Province of
Balochistan, Sindh and NWFP. In his statement Mr Hussain said that the
flooding and heavy rainstorms in Balochistan, Sindh and NWFP has caused huge
loss of life and property of the citizens, several cities have been
completely damaged, settlements wiped out, hundreds of citizens lost their
lives and hundreds of thousands have been left destitute and await for the
much needed relief. Mr Hussain also appealed to the affluent people to come
forward to support and provide relief to the flood affectees. Mr Hussain
assured that in this time of need in Balochistan, Sindh and NWFP, the MQM

the coward and dastardly terrorists attack. Concluding his statement, he said that today, the mankind is grateful to
the Almighty God for averting deaths

Ambassador to Pakistan. Ms Patterson was confirmed after the US Senate's Foreign
Relations Committee hearing chaired by former US Presidential candidate Senator

confirmation Ms Patterson discussed various issues of mutual interest including

Three points after marathon meeting in London
London. 21 May 2007---The MQM
Co-ordination Committee, with the Convenor Dr. Imran Farooq in chair,
held marathon meetings at International secretariat London, to reviews its
position since
joining the government in 2002. Along with terrorist attacks on MQM rallies
on 12 May 2007,
a micro analysis of all the promises made by the state since 2002 was

SUICIDAL
ATTACK IN CHARSADDA IS NAKED TERRORISM – ALTAF HUSSAIN
London – 28th April 2007: MQM Founder &
Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the suicide bomb attack in
Charsadda, NWFP during the public meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao).
He has also expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow on the loss of several
lives as a result and on the injuries caused to others including Federal
Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao and his son. He termed this suicide attack
as naked terrorism and the elements behind this attack are shedding the
blood of innocent people and they are not only the enemy of Islam and
Pakistan but also the enemy of the entire humanity. He expressed his
heartfelt sympathies and solidarity with the Federal Interior Minister Aftab
Sherpao, his son Sikander Sherpao and all the workers of Peoples Party
Sherpao Group. He said that this suicide attack is a national tragedy and
me and all my companions of the MQM are saddened and share the sorrow and
grief of those who lost their lives in this incident. He said that it is
high time now that the entire Pakistani nation gets united to completely rid
the Pakistan society of enemies of humanity and the religious extremists. He
prayed to the Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of those who lost their
lives and for the early recovery of the injured. He demanded of the
President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shoukat Aziz, Federal
Cabinet and the people at the helm of affairs to expose the elements behind
this suicidal attack and take firm action against them.

Shamim Hashmi, elder worker of
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) United Kingdom has died after a long illness on Friday
night 06th April 2007 in London. He was 75 years old. According to the details, Shamim Hashmi was suffering
from a serious Cardiac problem and was hospitalized for one and half month ago in a West Middlesex Hospital London. He was an active and senior worker of Muttahida Quami Movement United kingdom.
He has left behind four sons and one daughter. His Namaz-e-Janza will be
held in Hounslow Mosque, Wellington Road, Hounslow and He will be buried in Hatton Cross cemetery London on Sunday, 08 April 2007 after Zuhar prayer.

LAHORE: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) women’s wing
last week distributed cheques for Rs: 1 million among rural women under its
micro-credit scheme, party officials told Daily Times on Sunday.
They said party chief Altaf Hussain had directed the women wing to give
special attention to the rural women. They said so women were given a Rs:
20,000 cheque each. The party plans to lend Rs 2 million to rural women.
They said the party had started a micro-credit scheme in Sindh to help poor
women and now it had decided to launch a similar scheme in the Punjab. MQM
women’s wing chief organiser Dr Lala Rukh Mustafa said it would help women
become an earning hand each. |

TO ALL PARTY WORKERS
Mr. Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM)
withdraws his decision on insistence and assurances of workers and party
bearers.
The office bearers and workers assured him that they would correct their
attitude and behavior. They also assured Mr. Altaf Hussain that they would
practice humility instead of feudalistic attitude.
