STOP DRONE ATTACKS IN PAKISTAN AND RESPECT ITS SOVEREIGNTY
ALTAF HUSSAIN’S LETTER TO THE US PRESIDENT BARACK
OBAMA
London – 9th May 2009
MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the US President Barack Obama to stop drone attacks in Pakistan and respect its sovereignty. In a letter to US President Obama, Mr Hussain informed him of the details of the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s address to the Pakistani nation explaining the terrorist activities of Talibans and ordering a decisive full-scale assault of the Armed Forces on armed terrorists. Now when the Government of Pakistan is taking a full-scale action to eliminate terrorism and tackle the terrorist Talibans in NWFP Province and the Pakistani Armed Forces, security agencies and intelligence agencies are sacrificing their lives to rid the country of terrorism to secure the country, region and the world – it is high-time that the United States should stop drone attacks in Pakistan and respect its sovereignty. The United States should also offer complete logistic support to Pakistan, drone technology and other latest sophisticated equipment including night-vision goggles. He also appealed to the US President to help Pakistan economically as much as possible.
