TERRORISTS OF JAMAT-E-ISLAMI ATTACK MQM OFFICES IN
GUJRANWALA
AND SIALKOT, PUNJAB PROVINCE, PAKISTAN
On 24 May 2006, around 4.45 p.m. (Pakistan Standard Time), 3 terrorists riding on a motorcycle laden with sophisticated automatic weapons attacked the offices of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) in Gujranwala, Punjab province of Pakistan. The MQM office is situated at A-113, Judicial Colony, Upper Chenab, Gujranwala. They ransacked the entire office which was recently furnished, totally destroying the furniture and equipments. They brutally beat the office bearer with butts of their weapons, kicked and punched and asked him to close the office and stop working for the MQM or else he will face dire consequences. Name of the office bearer is Rana Arif Ali s/o Rana Mohammad Sharif residing in Moraliwala, Tehsil and District: Gujranwala, Punjab. While leaving and having totally ransacked the office and brutally torturing Rana Arif Ali, they indiscriminately fired at the office.
Yesterday, the terrorists of Jamat-e-Islami also attacked the MQM offices in Sialkot, Punjab. They were, once again, laden with sophisticated weapons. They brutally beat up the MQM workers namely; Mohammad Anwar s/o Mohammad Sharif of Mohalla Shahabpura, Gali Shakoorwali, House No.16/671. The terrorists ransacked the office destroying the office furniture and equipment totally and tore of all the posters of Mr. Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM). They warned to stop the work of the MQM in Punjab or else all the workers of the MQM in Punjab will face dire consequences.
Jamat-e-Islami-Pakistan has a fear that if the message and ideology of the MQM became popular in Punjab at this pace then it may lose its support in Punjab also, on the pattern of Sindh province.
