ALTAF HUSSAIN DEMANDS UN ENQUIRY INTO QURAN SACRILIGE AND EXEMPLARY PUNISHMENT TO THOSE RESPONSI BLE FOR DESECRATION

KARACHI---The Founder Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr Altaf Hussain has demanded a thorough enquiry into the desecration of Holy Quran by a UN Committee, asking it to hold those responsible for this sacrilege and give them exemplary punishment. In a statement from the party’s international headquarters in London, he remarked that substantial material has been available on various aspects of religions of the world, but Holy books have special significance for followers of the faith., For them, whatever has been said in these books, was taken as God’s Commandment. Mr Hussain reminded that Quran too was a Holy book, comprising of “surahs” and “ayahs” conveyed to the last Messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and covers the entire gambit of problems and solutions for the universe. The Muslim Ummah not only has blind faith on the holy Quran, but treats it with enormous respect, the MQM leader remarked and stressed that some unfortunate incidents about the holy Book’s desecration in jails have recently been highlighted in the press which have caused deep concern and anguish in the Muslim world. He therefore called for a proper enquiry into the matter by a committee of the United Nations which should fix responsibility and punish those responsible for it.
