AND PREACHING FOR
SUICIDE ATTACK IS UNISLAMIC AND FORBIDDEN – ALTAF HUSSAIN
London – 28th March 2009
MQM Founder & Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has stated that suicide is forbidden in Islam and those involved in suicide attacks and the act of preaching for the same is not only un-Islamic but forbidden in Islam. He was speaking on Friday at the MQM International Secretariat in London with the Members of MQM Central Coordination Committee, Ministers, Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Town Nazims and other Members of various MQM wings. Mr. Hussain condemned suicide attacks in various cities of the country and expressed his sorrow and grief on the loss of lives of innocent civilians. He said those involved in suicide attacks on mosques and killing worshippers through this act of terrorism cannot be Muslims and they are not even fit to be called humans. He said that Islam is the religion of peace and tranquility and it is the religion of humanity. Those who preach others to commit suicide attacks and terrorism in the name of Islam and support such elements are not friends of Islam but in fact they are its worst enemies and responsible for creating the bad image of Islam and Pakistan. He said that it is the need of time that the leaders of all political and religious parties should rise above their political differences and give priority to national security and play an active role in ridding the country of this menace of religious extremism and terrorism. He said that MQM wants to establish such a system in the country where people of all religions and sects are free to live in peace and practice their religion and feel security to their life and property and worship places.
Mr. Hussain expressed his grave concern over prolong load-shedding of electricity, especially with reference to Karachi. He demanded of the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister and Minister for Water and Power Raja Parvez Ashraf to provide relief to the people of Karachi from load-shedding and proactively take essential steps to end load-shedding. He reminded all the office bearers of the MQM to carry out their duties honestly and pay attention towards resolving public issues, keep away from greed, grouping and nepotism and adopt merit as the criteria.
INCREASING TERRORISM AND EXTREMISM IS A THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY – ALTAF HUSSAIN
London – 26th March 2009
Founder and Leader of the MQM Mr. Hussain have expressed serious concerns that the increase in terrorism and extremism is a threat to national security; therefore, time has come when all the citizens of Pakistan should get united. He was speaking to the Members of MQM Coordination Committee, Federal and Provincial Ministers, Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, District and Town Nazims and Members of various MQM wings at the International Secretariat. Mr. Hussain said that the religious extremist elements are targeting police and security forces alongside the civilians. As a result not only civilians but also personnel of police and other security officers have lost their lives. Because of the religious extremism and terrorism the image of Pakistan is being maligned worldwide. The entire world is now pointing towards Pakistan. The police, security forces and other institutions of the country are trying their level best to eliminate terrorism; however, the public should also cooperate with these agencies and institutions. He said that the country is passing through a very critical phase and facing threats and it is not in a position to face any confrontation. The country needs internal stability as never before, therefore, it is the need of time to do away from confrontation and resolve all issues through dialogue. Mr. Hussain reminded all to improve their working and reorganize and strengthen our ideological thoughts.
