THE PROTECTION OF MOEAN JO DARO MUST BE
ENSURED - ALTAF HUSSAIN

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has
appealed that steps should be taken to protect the historic and cultural
heritage of Sindh. He said that successive governments have unfortunately failed
to discharge their duties of protecting Moeanjo daro, five and a half thousands
years cultural heritage of Sindh, due to which this historical and cultural
heritage is in a such bad state. People of Sindh are concerned about its state
of affairs. He added that the
nations who do not look after their heritage lose their identity in
the annals of history. He
further stated that the MQM, besides forging unity, harmony and solidarity
amongst the permanent citizens of Sindh thinks that it is the National
responsibility of the government must to safe guard the historic heritage of
Sindh. MQM will continue to struggle for the up keep of the historical heritage
of Moeanjo daro and other historic places.
Mr. Altaf Hussain also appealed to President Musharraf, Prime Minister
Zafar ullah Khan Jamali and the Federal Minister for Tourism Naseer Ahmed to
take concrete steps for the protection and safeguard of the historic heritage of
Moeanjo daro.
