MURTAZA BHUTTO WAS OPPOSED TO BENAZIR’S MARRIAGE WITH ASIF ZARADARI – MQM INTELLIGENCE WING
London – 12 March
2004
The
MQM Intelligence Wing has issued 2nd installment about PPP’s
atrocities upon Murtaza Bhutto’s family.
When Shaheed Bhutto Group’s leader Murtaza Bhutto was in exile in
Damascus and came to know that his sister Benazir was getting married to Asif
Zardari, he opposed this marriage on the ground that Asif Zardari’s father
Hakim Zardari rejoiced when Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was hanged, he also distributed
sweets to mark his pleasure. But
the marriage was settled became Benazir’s mother Nusrat Bhutto and Zardari’s
(Hakim) second wife are cousins. The
Bhutto clan however, opposed the marriage because they did not want Benazir to
marry into a Balooch family. Despite
the clan’s opposition Nusrat Bhutto did not alter her decision because she
wanted to strengthen her bond with her cousin.
In view of party’s opposition to the marriage Benazir called a meeting
of the party workers no at 70 Clifton. The
office bearers advised her against this marriage and suggested that instead of
marrying the son of her opponents she should look for a suitor among the PPP
cadre. However, the PPP workers rejoiced
on this occassion Benazir was furious and told off everyone not to
interfere in her affairs. Watch for
the next installment of the Intelligence Wing.
