US OFFICIAL REFUSE TO BUY KARACHI POLICE STORY
KARACHI, Feb. 5: US officials have ruled out the involvement
of the tow Muttahida activists held by the police murder of five
Union Texas employees, it has been learnt through highly reliable
sources.
According to the sources Saeed Bharam and Salim Ganja who had
been in the custody of police for the last couple of months have
already been questioned by the US officials who were not
convinced about their involvement in the case. The accused were
presented before press reporters three days ago as the prime
killers of the UTP officials. The DIG Karachi claimed that Salim
conducted firing while Saeed was driving the car. The sources
further claimed that the fingerprints found on one of the cars
did not match with those of the accused persons.
The sketches prepared by CPLC on the basis of eye witness
accounts just after the murders are also too dissimilar than the
accused who have been nominated in the FIR.
It may be mentioned here that in the past too the police had
claimed that one Arif Tu Tu, a Muttahida activist, was involved
in the killings of two American diplomats at Sharae Faisal.
However, an FBI team had ruled out the involvement of Arif in the
killings.
In both the incidents, the US government has announced big
rewards amounting to millions of dollars.
