REPORTS OF ATROCITIES COMMITTED BY THE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ON MQM LEADERS, WORKERS, SUPPORTERS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS

 

1 July 2000

1-     At around 3 a.m., the personnel of Sharifabad Police Station raided the residence of Adeel Ali and arrested him. Adeel Ali son of Abbas is a worker of MQM Unit 57, Sector Liaquatabad.

2-     At around 4.30 a.m., the personnel of Sharifabad Police Station raided the residence of Asif.  In his absence, they arrested his younger brother Kashif Khan.  He was brutally subjected to torture.   The same raiding party then raided the residence of Imran Ul Haq (uncle of Asif) and arrested him.  Imran ul Haq is a worker of MQM Unit 157, Sector Liaquatabad.

At around 2.30 p.m., the personnel of CIA Police raided the Office of Rufi Builders and arrested Kaifulwara 35, son of Mohammad Islam.  He is a member of Muttahida Organising Committee (MOC).

 

29 June 2000

1-     At around 1.30 p.m., the personnel of Pak Colony Police Station raided the residence of Mohammad Altaf and arrested him.  Mohammad Altaf son of Mohammad Shafi is a resident of 186 Hasrat Mohani Colony, Karachi.  He is a worker of MQM Unit 186, Sector Pak Colony.

2-     At around 4 a.m., the personnel of Sharifabad Police Station raided the residences of Masroor, Intizar, Rashid and Irshad ul Haq and arrested all of them.  All the four arrested are the workers of MQM Unit 138, Sector Liaquatabad.

3-     At around 9 a.m., the personnel of Orangi Police Station led by SHO Hameed Ullah Niazi arrested Amir Ali while he was on his way to work at the DMC West Office. Amir Ali Quadri is a worker of MQM Unit 136, Sector North Karachi.

 

27 June 2000

1-     The personnel of Sharifabad Police Station raided the residence of Mohammad Umer and arrested him.  Mohammad Umer 29, son of Khalil Ahmed is a resident of New Karachi, Karachi.  He is a worker of MQM Unit 99, Sector Malir.

2-     At around 4 a.m., the personnel of Sharifabad Police Station led by SHO Bangash, raided the residence of Hafeez Ahmed Siddiqui and arrested him.  Hafeez Ahmed Siddiqui 38, son of Mohammad Sagheer Ahmed is a resident of New Karachi, Karachi.  He is an office bearer of MQM Unit 95, Sector Malir.

 

24 June 2000

At around 3.30 a.m., the personnel of Jamshed Quarters Police Station raided the residence of Yawar Jameel and arrested him. Yawar Jameel 35, son of Jameel Ahmed Siddiqui is a resident of PIB Colony, Karachi.  He is a member of MQM PIB Colony Sector Committee.

 

14 June 2000

The personnel of Police raided the temporary residence of Syed Nadir Shah and Rizwan Uddin in Quetta and arrested them. 

1-     Rizwan Uddin 22, son of Niaz Uddin is a resident of House No D-108, Nazimabad No 2, Karachi.  He is a worker of MQM Unit 164, Sector Liaquatabad.

2-     Syed Nadir Shah 35, son of Syed Munawwar Shah, is a resident of Liaquatabad, Karachi.  He is an office bearer of MQM Unit 164, Sector Liaquatabad.

 

12 June 2000

At around 5.00 p.m., the personnel of C.I.A Police and other law enforcement agencies raided the Head Office of G.P.O (General Post Office) at Sadder, Karachi and arrested two MQM workers.  Those who were arrested are:

i.                     Farooq 32, son of Mohammad Saleem is a member of MQM Landhi Sector Committee and Councillor of R.M.S.

ii.                   Tariq Jamsheed 32, is a worker of MQM Unit 81, Landhi Sector, Karachi

The personnel of C.I.A Police Hyderabad raided the house of Zubair Zai at Sector L, Hyderabad and arrested him.  Zubair Zai is an In-charge of MQM Unit 47. Hyderabad Zone.  He is being detained at unknown place.

 

10 June 2000

The personnel of Garden Police Station, led by SHO (Station House Officer) raided the temporary residence of Nadeem Khawar and arrested him.  Nadeem Khawar son of Saleem is a worker of MQM Unit 10 Yousuf Goth, Sector New Karachi.  He is being detained at unknown place.

At around 3.00 a.m., the personnel of Super Market Police Station raid the temporary residence of Shahid Afroz and arrested him.  Shahid Afroz 40, son of Mohammad Sultan is a worker of MQM Unit 158, Liaquatabad Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at unknown place.

 

4 June 2000

1.      The personnel of Jauharabad Police Station and Special Cell, led by Inspector Munawwar raided the house of Shamshad Khan at 216/10, Orangabad, Nazimabad, Karachi and arrested him.  Shamshad Khan 29, son of Khursheed Khan is a Member of MQM Unit Committee, MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector, Karachi. 

 

  1. The personnel of Jauharabad Police Station and C.I.A Police raided the temporary residence of Adil Rizwan at 136/137, Orangabad, Commercial Area, Nazimabad, Karachi and arrested him with four other workers of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.  They are detained at Preedy Police Station.  Those who were arrested are:

i.                     Adil Rizwan 28, Joint Unit In-charge of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector

ii.                   Saleem Siddiqi 29, Member of Unit Committee MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector

iii.                  Nadeem, worker of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector

iv.                 Tanveer Ahmed 21, son of Jalil Ahmed, worker of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector

v.                   Irfan Qamar 30, son of Qamar Qureshi, worker of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector

The personnel of Artillery Maidan Police Station, led by SHO Sajjad arrested Mohammad Arshad from Nazimabad.  Mohammad Arshad 27, son of Mohammad Sharif is a worker of MQM Unit 181, Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.

At around 3.00 a.m., the personnel of C.I.A Police raided the house of Zaheer Uddin Babar and arrested him.  Zaheer Uddin 42, is being detained at C.I.A Centre, Karachi.

At around 9.00 p.m., the personnel of Rizvia Police Station arrested Mohammad Shahid.  He was going to home from the shop.  Mohammad Shahid 23, son of Abdul Rasheed is a worker of MQM Unit 182, Nazimabad Sector, Karachi.

At around 4.00 a.m., the personnel of Darakhsha Police Station, led by SP (Superintendent of Police) raided the temporary residence of Mohammad Arif at Ramswami, Karachi and arrested him.  Mohammad Arif 27, son of Mohammad Ibrahim is a worker of MQM Unit 117, Baldia Town Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at Darakhsha Police Station.

At around 11.30 p.m., the personnel of C.I.A Police raided the temporary residence of Mohammad Kashif and arrested him.  Mohammad Kashif 25, son of Abdul Majeed Khan is a worker of MQM Unit 132, Qasba Ali Garh Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at unknown place.

 

18 May 2000

At around 6.10 p.m., police, law enforcement agencies and state sponsored Haqiqi Terrorist killed Burhan Riaz and injured Mehmood Riaz (Ex- Sector member of Society Sector) in Society, Karachi. Burhan Riaz was killed by the Haqiqi terrorist Nasir.  Mehmood Riaz is in a critical condition at Liaquat National Hospital.  Burhan Riaz was 38 years old.

The personnel of Sharifabad Police Station, led by SHO (Station House Officer) Ali Raza Arrested Shahid from the nearest railway line of Gharibabad Station, Liaquatabad.  Shahid 22, son of Shabbir is a worker of MQM Unit 157, Liaquatabad Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at unknown place.

The personnel of Nazimabad Police Station arrested Syed Mohammad Zulfiquar from the road of Orangi Town Karachi.  Syed Mohammad Zulfiquar 38, son of Syed Mohammad Iqbal is a worker of MQM Unit 157, Liaquatabad Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at Rizvia Police Station.

 

11 May 2000

  1. At around 11.00 p.m., the personnel of Nasir Colony Police Station, led by SI (Sub-Inspector) Nawab Mirani raided the temporary residence of Mohammad Ayub Khan at Korangi No. 1½, Karachi and arrested him.  Mohammad Ayub Khan 31, son of Sultan Khan is a worker of MQM Unit 24, Burns Road Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at Nasir Colony Police Station.  He is being subjected to brutal torture.

 

2.      At around 5.00 a.m., the plain clothed personnel of Sharifabad Police Station raided the In- Laws house of Khurram.  In his absence, they ransacked the house and arrested his mother-in-law, three brother-in-laws & sister-in-law. The raiding party raided the temporary residence of Khurram and arrested him.

The personnel of City Court Police arrested Rahim from the City Court.  Rahim 30, son of Ala Din residence at A/3-766, Saeedabad, Baldia Town, Karachi is a worker of MQM Unit 112, Baldia Town Sector, Karachi.  He is being detained at Karachi Central Prison.
