MQM would observe the peaceful “Day of Mourning” on Saturday against suicidal attacks on the historic Shrine of Hazrat Shaikh Ali Hajveri known as Hazrat Data Ganj Buksh (RA) all over the country.
This was decided in a joint emergency meeting of MQM Coordination Committee at Pakistan and London. The meeting strongly condemned the death of innocent people, due to suicidal attacks on Data Durbar and it was declared as a national tragedy. Coordination Committee said that, since hundreds of years Data Darbar is the centre of respect, devotion and spiritualism for the Muslims of the sub-continent, from where the people come for pray and to show their devotion to the saints (Aulia-e- Kiram).
MQM Coordination Committee decided that MQM would observe the peaceful Day of Mourning on tomorrow (3rd July 2010) against suicidal attacks on the Shrine Hazrat Data Ganj Buksh (RA) all over the country. In this connection, black banners and flags would be hoisted. Workers and sympathizers of the MQM will put black bands on their arms and congregations of Quran Khawani will be held for the martyrs of this tragedy.
MQM Founder and Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain indorsed this decision and appealed to the people of Pakistan to participate in the Day of Mourning and offer Quran Khawani and Fatiha Khawani for those who lost their lives in this act of terrorism.
