PROVINCE OF SINDH BELONGS TO THE PEACE LOVING
PEOPLE AND NOT EXTREMISTS – ALTAF HUSSAIN

London – 21 July 2005 Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) said that the province of Sindh belongs to the peace loving moderates and not extremists and certainly by the Will of God, the spurious forces would obliterate and the righteous people will emerge victorious on the polling day. He stressed that the people and workers should face the forces conspiring to disrupt the electoral process tolerantly and endure them peacefully. He was expressing these views during a telephonic address from London to the Head office of the party in Karachi commonly known as “Nine Zero” applauding the Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee, office bearers and workers including MQM Senators, Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Legal Aid Committee, Women Wing, Elders Wing, Labour Division, APMSO, Minority Wing and Pushtun-Punjabi Organising Committee on the completion of the nomination process of the first phase of the Local Bodies Elections.

Addressing the office bearers, workers and parliamentarians, Mr Altaf Hussain said that their affection and conformation to his appeals wholeheartedly despite the distance of thousands of miles during his exile for the past 14 years is not only commendable but also unprecedented in the history. He further added that they would also complete the second and third phases of the forthcoming Local Bodies Elections with the same enthusiasm and prove that the MQM believes in “Realism and Practicalism”. He added those MQM supported candidates who have already won the elections unopposed; the credit of those victory goes to the workers of the party.

Mr Altaf Hussain asserted that the people of Sindh do not only believe in sectarian harmony but also practice and treat all the religious minorities in equality. He said that those who are confident of sweeping the elections with the blessing of Almighty Allah would never even think of disrupting peace but only those who know that their destiny is defeat, design ways and means to create law and order situation, perpetrate violence, murder and mayhem with the view to suspend the electoral process. He reiterated that the office bearers, workers, supporters and sympathisers must exercise total restraints and demonstrate total calm on all the provocations to defeat the conspirators and the enemies of the MQM in their designs. Concluding his address, Mr Altaf Hussain also applauded the Members of the Central Co-ordination Committee and workers based at the International Secretariat for working hard for the completion of the first phase of the forthcoming Local Bodies Elections.
