ON THE INVITATION OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE SECRETARIAT, AFTAB SHEIKH MEETS WITH GENERAL PARVEZ MUSHARRAF IN ISLAMABAD

Yesterday, on the invitation of the Chief Executive Secretariat, Senator Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Deputy Convenor of MQM Coordination Committee met with Chief Executive General Parvez Musharraf in Islamabad.

The meeting continued for 75 minutes.  During the meeting, Aftab Ahmed Sheikh informed in detail the grievances faced by the Mohajirs in general and MQM leaders, workers and elected representatives in particular for the past many years.  Moreover, the details of the extrajudicial killings, the case of MQM missing workers, displaced families, death sentences to MQM workers by the ATC, imprisonment of thousands of innocent MQM workers, unlawful raids and arrests of the MQM workers and supporters at the hands of the law enforcement agencies was particularly conveyed to the Chief Executive. On behalf of the MQM, Senator Aftab Sheikh also presented a memorandum to the Chief Executive.
