URGENT INTERVENTION REQUESTED TO STOP THE IDENTITY ELIMINATION OF MOHAJIR NATION IN PAKISTAN
Dear Prime Minister
The people of Mohajir Nation in Pakistan are facing Genocide at the hands of the present Government of Nawaz Sharif. The process of discrimination and victimisation against the Mohajir Nation has been continuing since the inception of Pakistan in 1947, by all the governments including the military rule in the country. Since the commencement of Operation Clean up in June 1992, the law enforcement agencies or their sponsored terrorists, the Haqiqi, have extra-judicially killed thousands of Mohajirs. Extra-judicial killing, custodial deaths, raids, arrests, cordoning off operation and humiliation of Mohajir men, women and children have become a daily occurrence. The MQM (Muttahida Quami Movement) is the third largest political party of Pakistan and the second largest in Sindh province. The Government and the Establishment of Pakistan have not accepted the huge mandate of Mohajirs in favour of the MQM in the consecutive General Elections of 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1997.
Dear Prime Minister
Your country has always been a pioneer in providing assistance to the victims of human rights violations throughout the world. The people of Mohajir Nation in Pakistan feel neglected and isolated by the international community in general and Great Britain in particular. We want to draw the attention of the international community towards the plight of over 22 million Mohajirs living in the urban centres of Sindh, southern Pakistan.
I, request you to look into the matter, intervene and use your good offices to stop the Genocide of Mohajir Nation in Pakistan by the Government of Nawaz Sharif.
Today, I am observing a token hunger strike in front of your residence just to register my protest against the identity elimination of Mohajir Nation in Pakistan by the Government of Nawaz Sharif.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully
Dr. Saghir Ahmed Ansari
