MQM LAUNCH A GLOBAL PROTEST AGAINST GENOCIDE OF MOHAJIRS
MQM workers have launched a global
protest against the atrocities by Nawaz Sharif Government
committed against the Mohajir Nation and their sole
representative political party in Sindh province, Southern
Pakistan. MQM is the third largest party of Pakistan and second
largest in the province of Sindh. Senator Nasreen Jalil and
former member National Assembly Mr Anis Ahmed began their token
hunger strike in front of the British Prime Minister's official
residence at 10 Downing Street, London. The Senator also
presented a petition to the British Prime Minister describing how
the MQM and Mohajir Nation have been targeted by Nawaz Sharif
government.
A large number of MQM workers including members of Ladies Wing accompanied the senator to Downing Street. They carried numerous banners with slogans condemning the autocratic rule of Nawaz Sharif and genocide of Mohajir Nation.
International media interviewed the
hunger strikers, which included CNN, Reuters, Sunrise Radio, ANI
and representatives of various Pakistani and Indian newspapers.
Besides numerous Londoners the strikers were also visited by a group of students from Oxford University, Rt. Hon Tony Ben MP, various journalists and Mr Altaf Hussain the founder and leader of the MQM.
Senator Jalil pointed out the plight of Mohajirs in Pakistan to all the visitors by handing over the flyers describing the barbaric treatment meted out to innocent citizens and showing them the photographs of the victims of police brutalities.
The MQM is carrying out their protests
in the USA, Canada, Germany, South Africa, Australia and Belgium
in addition to the United Kingdom.
