SOS -- LIFE IN DANGER

ABU BAKAR, SENIOR MEMBER OF THE CENTRAL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE OF MQM LABOUR DIVISION AND THE CHAIRMAN OF CBA IN PIA ABDUCTED LAST NIGHT

Mr. Abu Bakar, senior Member of the Central Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Labour Division and the Chairman of CBA in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has been abducted by the law enforcement agencies from Rafa-e-Aam Society in Malir, Karachi.

According to details, on 14 July 1999, at around 12.45 a.m., Mr. Abu Bakar left Nine Zero (MQM Head Office) in Azizabad, Karachi in his grey colour Toyota Corolla car (Model 1996-97 -- Regn. No. AAE 794) ) for his residence in Rafa-e-Aam Society, along with a colleague who is also his neighbour. Between 1 a.m. and 1.30 a.m., he dropped his colleague at his residence and then left for his house which is at 5 minutes distance. He never reached his house. It is strongly feared that he has been abducted by the law enforcement agencies and that his life in danger.
