MQM WILL INTRODUCE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT FOR THE CREATION OF NEW PROVINCES: DR FAROOQ SATTAR

Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the MQM would introduce 20^th Constitutional Amendment in the parliament on 2^nd January for the creation of Hazara and Southern Punjab provinces. He was speaking to a large gathering of Hazara and Seraiki people that had come to Nine Zero in the form of rallies for expressing their joy over the submission of the resolution in the National Assembly by the MQM calling for the creation of the new provinces in the country.

Dr Farooq Sattar said that the MQM would also submit resolutions in the National Assembly and the Senate for giving autonomy to the tribal areas of the country with a view to ending the sense of deprivation among the tribal people. He added that consultations were being held on the draft of the amendment in this regard, and the 21^st Constitutional Amendment would be introduced in the parliament for this purpose.

Dr Sattar said that the creation of a new province in southern Punjab, and the Hazara province was the need of the hour. He said that it was necessary for political and economic stability of the country. If Pakistan has to be saved, then the people of Pakistan must be empowered and included in the process of decision making. If the people of the country have a sense of participation in running the affairs of the country, Pakistan would make great progress and obtain its rightful position in the comity of nations.

Dr Sattar said that the MQM was not a political party of any particular ethnic group. The MQM represented the oppressed and downtrodden people throughout the country. He said that a public revolution was imminent in the country and hoped that the MQM would lead the revolution under the able leadership of Mr Altaf Hussain.
