AFFECTED FAMILIES BE COMPENSATED IN SINDH

Mr. Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has appealed to the President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf for the compensation of thousands of affected families during the last days of marauding incidents in Sindh after the assassination of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto. Mr. Hussain appealed during his telephonic conversation with the President on Monday.
During the conversation Mr. Hussain expressed his profound sorrow and grief over the assassination of Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto and termed this incident as a great loss to the Nation and the country.
He said that after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto offices, shops, vehicles, houses, factories and mills were looted, burnt and destroyed all over the country generally and in Sindh particularly.
He further informed the President that thousands of people would not be able to bear the losses resulted from indiscriminate loot and plunder because they lost all their life savings.
Mr. Altaf Hussain strongly appealed the government to provide compensation to the victims and to those who lost their loved ones and those injured during the marauding attacks.
President Pervez Musharraf assured Mr. Hussain that he will assess the situation in detail and will take the appropriate steps.
