MQM Founder
& Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has said that changing scenarios are dependent on
society – static society obliterates from the face of earth because static is
the sign of death. Therefore, all Pakistanis, especially the youth, belonging to every walk of life must keep an open eye and
continue to practice self-accountability. These changes occur in all walks of life
including literature, poetry, fiction, science, medicine, physics, chemistry,
sports, zoology, mathematics, electronics, computer science, information
technology, economics and constitution. Referring to the era limited to
supernatural and romantic stories he said that with the passage of time social
issues and facts are also being incorporated in these stories. Similarly in
poetry, with the passage of time, the same changes occurred. He was addressing
the launching ceremony Arshad Hussain’s book “Halaat
Kay Taqazay” at the MQM Head Office Nine Zero in
Azizabad,
Mr Hussain said that it is
the responsibility of each and every person of the community to keep an open
eye and be aware and present the social issues through fiction, poetry or their
writings. At present certain so-called political analysts and self-proclaimed
intellectuals want to keep the public in the dark. Even today, public is being
hoodwinked as in 1970. These so-called intellectuals and columnists and experts
appear on the television and debate that
Mr Hussain said that
discrimination and prejudice is so rife in our country that if a national poet
belonging to a smaller province dies then the national media only reports this
news in two lines and does not broadcast any program in remembrance, however,
for poets of other areas a series of programs running to 4 days is broadcasted.
He said that he personally has no objection on such programs but the
discrimination against the national poets of smaller province must end. Referring
to the demise of national poet Mohsin Bhopali a few days ago, he said that he is personally sad
that none of the television channels including the national television
broadcasted a single program to honour his services.
He appealed to those at the helm of affairs to treat everyone as equal. He said
if justice will not be provided, provinces are not given full provincial
autonomy then God forbid in the coming time the province demanding their rights
will appear as an independent country on the world map.
He passionately appealed
particularly to the youth that if the so-called intellectuals and analysts are
not informing the people of facts then it becomes the responsibility of the
youth to come forward and apprise the people of the country of facts and
current state of affairs. He requested the youth to write and maintain a diary
to record the events and one day this will form a book.
Mr Hussain congratulated the
writer Arshad Hussain on his book that he is sitting amongst such big names of
the field and advised him to remain humble and respectful to others. He praised
him for his work and said that today his parents will be very proud of him. He
personally thanked the participants of the gathering.
