VICTORY
IN SENATE BYE-ELECTION
Karachi-10 January
2004
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) registered a grand victory for the Middle
Class and the downtrodden people of Pakistan in general and of Sindh province in
particular in the Senate of Pakistan. MQM nominated Dr Muhammad Ali Brohi, a
Sindhi-speaking Sindhi hailing from the Middle Class segment of Larkana
District, a District that has been purported to be a District of Ms. Benazir
Bhutto, until today. Dr Muhammad Ali Brohi recorded a historical victory in the
Senate Elections on the seat declared vacant on the demise of Maulana Shah Ahmed
Noorani, the President of the six religious parties Alliance Muttahida
Majlis-e-Amal (MMA).
Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) congratulating Dr Muhammad Ali Brohi said that “Today the oppressed people of Sindh in particular and of Pakistan in general have emerged triumphant over their oppressors, the feudal rulers, for the first time in the history of rural Sindh. He further added that the oppressed Middle Class and downtrodden youth and people of Sindh and the rest of Pakistan can democratically liberate themselves from the shackles of feudal slavery but they have to differentiate between righteousness and falseness”.
