Karachi – 26 January 2002
Today, the Haqiqi terrorists
have once again displayed sheer ruthlessness by callously committing the double
murder of Mohammad Anwar, an MQM worker of Unit 84, Sector Landhi; and his uncle
Sheikh Amjad.
According to reports, in the
evening of 26 January 2002, armed Haqiqi terrorists riding on two motorcycles
forced their way into the residence of Mohammad Anwar in Area 36-B of Landhi in
Karachi. As they were trying to
kidnap Mohammad Anwar, his uncle Sheikh Amjad, who was passing by, came to the
rescue of Mohammad Anwar. However,
the Haqiqi terrorists armed with kalashinkovs, overpowered both Mohammad Anwar
and Sheikh Amjad and took them to unknown destination.
Soon afterwards, their dead bodies were found near the K-Area of Korangi
in Karachi.
It may be recalled that ever
since the commencement of Army Operation against the MQM, Landhi has been made a
NO GO AREA for the MQM leaders, office bearers, workers and supporters by the
Haqiqi Terrorists under the patronage of intelligence agencies.
Within these NO GO AREAS, thousands of MQM workers and supporters have
been ruthlessly kidnapped, tortured and brutally murdered by the Haqiqi
terrorists. Being an MQM worker,
Mohammad Anwar was also forced to leave his house in Landhi and reside elsewhere
in hiding to save his life and the life of his family members.
Only recently, he had returned to his parental home, where he was
immediately spotted by the Haqiqi terrorists and ruthlessly murdered today along
with his uncle Sheikh Amjad.
Meanwhile, MQM Founder and
Leader Mr Altaf Hussain while strongly condemning this barbaric act of double
murder by the Haqiqi terrorists has extended his heartfelt condolences to the
family members of Mohammad Anwar and Sheikh Amjad. Expressing his deepest
sympathies, Mr Hussain said that he along with all the workers of MQM equally
share their sorrow and grief. He
prayed to Almighty Allah to provide strength to the family members to endure the
tragic loss of lives of their loved ones.
Moreover, the MQM
Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the brutal double murder of
Mohammad Anwar and his uncle Sheikh Amjad.
They have demanded of the President Musharraf to take notice of this
double murder by the Haqiqi terrorists and ensure that the ruthless murderers
are immediately apprehended and brought to justice.
Muttahida Quami Movement
(MQM) is the third largest political party of Pakistan and the second largest in
the southern province of Sindh. Since the commencement of Army Operation on 19
June 1992, more than 15000 MQM leaders, workers and supporters have been
brutally murdered.
