London – 9 January 2002
Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder and Leader, has said that Establishment of Pakistan is facing the nemesis of its own follies according to the famous saying “what you sow, so shall you reap”. He was addressing a gathering of Pakistani intellectuals at the MQM International Secretariat in London. The group visited the International Secretariat to see Mr Altaf Hussain and discuss with him the future of Pakistan.
Lamenting the anti-Mohajir attitude and policies and double standards of the Establishment in this regard, Mr Hussain said how unfortunate it is that those who opposed the creation of Pakistan had all along been branding the pioneers of Pakistan, their sons and daughters, who sacrificed everything for Pakistan, as terrorists – not only the Mohajirs had been rewarded in this unjust manner but had been a target of brutal State terrorism. Thousands of innocent MQM leaders, office bearers and workers had been extra-judicially executed; these heinous acts under State sponsorship would be proudly termed acts to flush out terrorists.
Mr Hussain further said that time and again we had appealed to the authorities but no heed was ever paid to our predicament regarding the arrest of the killers of innocent MQM workers. – And now it looks the justice of Almighty Allah has come into action in the shape of retributive justice/nemesis (makafat-e-amal), in response to the State brutalities against Mohajirs. The entire international community is blaming the Establishment of Pakistan as “harbourer of terrorists” and also pressurising Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism and the terrorist outfits.
On the sensitivity of the developments on external front, Mr Hussain said Pakistan has a very limited time for correcting horrendous mistakes that it committed in past. If the Establishment does not change its prejudiced and biased treatment towards the smaller nations of Pakistan then the future of the country is very bleak.
In the end replying to a question Mr Hussain said the Establishment must rectify all wrongs it so far did henceforth and begin providing rights to all nations of Pakistan and consider them as patriotic as it considers itself. – Only by adopting this the Establishment could save Pakistan otherwise not.
