LIFE IN DANGER: TODAY, AT AROUND 1 P.M. (PAKISTAN
TIME), AN MQM WORKER JAVED HASAN KIDNAPPED BY THE HAQIQI TERRORISTS IN KARACHI,
PAKISTAN UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES
London
– 17 January 2001
Kidnapping
and killings of MQM workers have started once again by the Haqiqi Terrorists
under the protection and patronage of the Intelligence Agencies. Today, at around 1 p.m. (Pakistan Time), the
Haqiqi terrorists under the protection of the intelligence agencies kidnapped
one MQM worker Javed Hasan son of Abul Hasan while he was standing near a pan
shop in Madina Colony, Korangi, Karachi, Pakistan. He has been taken to unknown destination and it is strongly
feared that his life is in danger.
According to details, two MQM workers of Unit 76, Sector Korangi, i.e. Javed Hasan son of Abul Hasan and Amanullah son of Hidayatullah, were standing near a pan shop in Madina Colony, Korangi. The Haqiqi terrorists travelling in a taxi-car spotted them and tried to kidnap them both. Amanullah somehow managed to free himself and ran away, while the Haqiqi terrorists kidnapped Javed Hasan. It has been learnt that Javed Hasan has been taken to the torture cell of Haqiqi terrorists in Raheemabad, Korangi, where he is at present being severely tortured and his life is danger. So far till the filing of this report, i.e. 5.35 p.m. Pakistan Time, he has not been released by the Haqiqi Terrorists.
Moreover, Haqiqi terrorists along
with plain clothed personnel of intelligence agencies are roaming freely in
different part of the city and terrorising the area residents. They are openly displaying arms (i.e.
Kalashinkovs and other lethal weapons) by riding on motorcycles. There have been numerous incidents when
these terrorists have threatened and beaten up the area residents, including
the shopkeepers. They are also chasing,
kidnapping and even murdering MQM workers.
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is
the third largest political party of Pakistan and the second largest in the
province of Sindh. Since the
commencement of the Army Operation on 19 June 1992, against the MQM, more than
15000 MQM leaders, workers and supporters have been extra-judicially murdered,
thousands are languishing in prison on false and fabricated charges, dozens
have been awarded death sentences, more than 28 workers are reported missing
after being unlawfully arrested, thousands of families have been displaced from
their homes and thousands of workers and supporters have been forced to leave
the country and are living in exile.
We request you to urgently act and
use your influence to save the life of innocent MQM worker Javed Hasan from the
Haqiqi terrorists or else it is strongly apprehended that the Haqiqi terrorists
might also murder him as they have murdered Mohammad Kashif Farooq son of
Mohammad Umer Farooq on 16 January 2001.
