ALTAF HUSSAIN GRANTED INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

The British Government has granted Mr.
Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder and Leader, indefinite leave to remain
in the United Kingdom. He will now have all the legal rights
equal to British citizens. This was informed through a formal
letter to the solicitors of Mr. Hussain. The British Home Office
has also granted Mr. Nadeem Nusrat, political secretary to Mr.
Hussain, the same status. All the overseas units of MQM while
expressing their jubilation on the decision have requested Mr.
Hussain to visit their countries and address public rallies in
person.
According to details, the British Home
Office has announced its decision on the application of political
asylum filed by Mr. Hussain in June 1992. In a letter to the
solicitors of Mr. Hussain, the British Home Office has informed
them that Mr. Hussain has now been granted the status of 'British
Resident', and that he can stay in the United Kingdom for an
indefinite period. The letter also states that Mr. Hussain will
now enjoy all the rights accorded to the British citizens. In the
light of this letter Mr. Hussain has now the right to visit
Europe, America, Asia, Africa and other countries of the world.
It is now expected that Mr. Hussain will soon arrange to travel throughout the world to address public gatherings in person.
