ALTAF PROMISES FREE EDUCATION MATRIC,GREATYER ROLE FOR WOMENFOLK (FROM MQM)

KARACHI FEB 12----MQM leader Altaf Hussain promised free education up to matric, and much greater role for womenfolk's of the country  if offered a chance in the government after next week's  elections. On a campaign trail for the last few weeks, Mr Hussain addressed four different election meetings, in Burns Road, Gulistan-e-Juhar, Ranchore Lines etc last night to mobilise support for his party's candidates.

Regretting that anti-people elements ignited riots pitting mohajirs, pathans, Punjabis, and Sindhis against each other to fulfil their nefarious designs, he asked the people to forget and forgive and live like brothers to foil their conspiracies. He said time was not far off when Muttahida Quami Movement will form government at the centre and in provinces. The day it attain that objective, it will abolish the contemptuous feudal  systems to free the people from their yokes. Education up to matric will be free and compulsory, and a chain of hospitals and dispensaries will be established the country for looking after the health of the people. The poor is still deprived of this basic amenity which is deplorable.

A network of roads will be built to improve communication, he said, and recalled that for the first time since the 80s, MQM was given a chance to be in the government for five years. It proved its worth and brought improvement in the system in road and bridge building, medical cover etc without loss of time. its ministers and parliamentarians worked ceaselessly to ensure a speedy development and ensured that basic amenities reaches the doorsteps of the common man. He announced that ban will be imposed on marriages of underage girls, and penalties will be imposed for parents refusing to send their wards to educational institutions.

Ladies will be given wider representation in education and other sectors to enable them to play a more important roles in improving the lot of the society. He said that political and religious parties have been in power, through collusion with the military or otherwise for  the 60 years of Pakistan's life, and yet the lot of the people had remained pitiable. These parties did nothing for the people.

Such a situation was deplorable especially when viewed in the context of global situation. Many countries gained independence after Pakistan, and yet their records was much better. They had advanced in the fields of science, education, technical development, commerce and trade.

the value of the Pakistani rupee is far less than that of Indian or even Bangla Deshi currency.Pkistan's exports was much less than India or china. He said MQM on coming to power will change the face of the country. Pakistan will be counted among the fastest developing countries of the world and will acquire a happier status.
