ANGELS DO NOT BRING REVOLUTIONS,
PEOPLE
CHANGE THE ARCHAIC SYSTEMS – ALTAF HUSSAIN
London-6 February 2008
Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) said that the prime reason for injustices, deprivations and impoverishments in the country is the archaic feudal-political system in vogue since her inception. He added that angels do not descend from skies to bring revolutions but the people replace antiquated political systems through their pluralism and solidarities. He claimed that if the MQM came into power as a majority party then the private jails of the feudal and tribal lords in Sindh province would cease to exist, the parochialism and barbaric ritual of marrying women with the Holy Quran would be brought to an end and there would be redemption of women from barbaric treatments.
Mr Altaf Hussain said this during his telephonic address from London to Jamshoro, Thatta, Gumbat in Khairpur and Mehrabpur City in Naushero Feroz simultaneously in public gathering. Large numbers of people attended these gatherings from rural areas besides the cities and towns. During his address, Mr Altaf Hussain said that if there is filth in some place, it would not simply disapear by just saying that there is a stench coming from it, unless it is cleansed, the stench would continue to come and bacteria would afflict the people in different kind of diseases living in that area. The pragmatism therefore, calls for acceptance of reality and then the practicality demands of cleansing of the area from immunity from diseases. He further added that there exists struggle between different classes, injustices, deprivations, impoverishments and unemployment like diseases in Pakistan and its prime reason is the decrepit and antiquated feudal political system in the country, as a result the feudal lords are germinating diseases like hunger, impoverishments, injustices and deprivation in the society.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that sixty years have elapsed since the formation of Pakistan and it has been witnessed till today that only the children of feudal lords and capitalists benefit from expensive schools who then proceed to USA and Britain for post-graduation but these feudal lords returning to power sustainably for the past 60 years have not built schools and colleges of higher standards for the sons and daughters of poor peasants (Haris and Mazarehs), hospitals, dispensaries and health centres were not built for their wellbeing and treatment. These feudal lords did not allow schools to be opened in innumerable areas of Sindh. By abusing their power and the schools were converted into their sitting areas to deprive the children of the poor peasants in order to ensure that these children could never be in a position to raise their righteous voices for their rights against these oppressive forces. He said that education provides awareness and enhances the faculty of the people and teaches that there are no differences between the rich and the poor in the eyes of the God. Addressing the people he said that unless you attain education, how would you differentiate between the oppressors and oppressed? The people are deprived of the education, health care, potable water and employment while these feudal lords have potable water, gas and electricity at their disposal, their children receive high standard of education and they return to power through elections generations after generations. Enquiring the people of Sindh, he asked do you wish to remain deprived of education and basic necessities of life? He again asked that would they continue in the slavery of feudal lords and give in their justified and unjustified demands? He said that if you wish to change the archaic feudal-political system then you have to practically struggle against this system.
Mr Altaf Hussain said that the people of Sindh wish from the core of their hearts to join the MQM in great numbers and cast their votes in the favour of the MQM but they fear the wrath of the feudal lords. He suggested to them to wear the badges of the feudal lords but cast their votes in favour of the MQM and render their duties for the change of the system. He said that time has not peaked to hold public gatherings in front of the feudal palaces, similar to the days of beginning of the Islamic era when the prayers were held covertly and the time came that it happened overtly. He said that if the MQM came into power it would open schools and colleges everywhere where free education would be provided to the children of the poor peasants as well as for women, Hospitals and dispensaries would be opened for healthcare, potable water would be provided to the people, roads would be constructed in the rural areas and loans would be provided to poor to establish cottage industries and trade. He said that those in Sindh have taken the path of the dacoit culture under compulsion; we would reform them to leave this path and join the struggle for the rights of the Sindh province. He said that the ideology of Muttahida is “Realism and Practicalism” and we do not only speak of friendship and unity but practically demonstrate that. We did not only award the nomination tickets to poor Sindhi workers from Azizabad, Malir and other parts of Karachi but had them elected to the legislative bodies. He asked whether any feudal-based party awarded the nomination tickets to its poor workers and office bearers. He said that whatever Altaf Hussain says, he says from the core of his heart and he is the real son of Sindh province whether one believes him or not. He said that he had spiritual relationship with the soil of Sindh and the respect for Sindh is more sacred than my life and he would like to get Sindh its rights.
Mr Altaf Hussain addressing the so-called nationalists who proclaim themselves to be the upholder of the rights of Sindh, boycott the Conference of Muttahida Quami Movement for unity but they take pride in attending conference in other provinces. Mr Altaf Hussain asked the workers and supporters to continue their struggle with steadfastness and God willing the day will come that Sindh and its people’s fate would change. Fall of the feudal would take place and the sun of the rule of the working people and middle class would shine and there would be an end of hatred in Sindh. Mr Altaf Hussain commended the workers and office bearers of the MQM Thatta, Jamshoro, Khairpur and Naushero Feroz Zones for organising such a spectacular and disciplined public gatherings.
