MQM WILL SUPPORT THE DEMAND OF THE PEOPLE OF FATA FOR A SEPARATE PROVINCE: ALTAF HUSSAIN
MQM ESPOUSES THE CAUSE OF TRUTH AND SUPPORTS THE OPPRESSED PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY
LONDON: 29TH DECEMBER 2011:
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM always espoused the cause of the truth, and it supports the oppressed people in the country, including Fata. He said this while talking on the telephone to MNA from Fata Hamidullah Jan Afridi.
Mr Afridi informed Mr Hussain about the situation in Fata. He said that the people of Fata were already facing many injustices and hardships, and now efforts were being made to merge the tribal areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He said that the tribal areas have always remained autonomous and hence the people of Fata do not want to become a part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They want a separate province in order to pursue their aspirations.
Mr Afridi said that the people of Fata were looking at the MQM and Mr Hussain with expectations. They were hopeful that the MQM would raise the voice about their rights.
Mr Hussain said, “We are grieved at the injustices done to the people of the tribal areas. We share their grief and sorrows and have full sympathy with them. We have opposed the drone strikes and got a resolution against the drone attacks passed from the National Assembly. We also raised our voice at every other forum on the issue of drone attacks.”
Mr Hussain said that he would ask the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM to deliberate on making Fata a new province. If the people of Fata would unanimously demand a separate province, the MQM would endorse their demand. He also asked Mr Afridi to convey his best wishes to the people of the tribal areas. Mr Afridi welcomed the views of Mr Hussain and thanked him on behalf of the people of Fata for his strong support.
ALTAF HUSSAIN CONGRATULATES PEOPLE ON SUBMISSION OF RESOLUTION IN NA FOR CREATION OF SERAIKI AND HAZARA PROVINCES
MQM WILL HOLD A CONVENTION IN HAZARA IN MARCH 2012
LONDON: 29TH DECEMBER 2011:
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM believes in practical efforts instead of making tall claims. He congratulated the people of Hazara and southern Punjab on the submission of resolutions by MQM parliamentarians calling for creation of Haraza and Seraiki provinces in the National Assembly.
Earlier, talking to the office-bearers and workers of MQM Abbottabad Zone Mr Hussain said that the MQM was the only representative political party of the oppressed and downtrodden people in the country, and it respected their wishes and aspirations.
Mr Hussain said that he was not in the politics for acquiring pelf and power. He said that he only wanted to serve the people. He added that he did not need anything for himself as his entire life was devoted to getting the rights of the poor and dispossessed people. He said that he would continue to strive for the rights of the deprived people to his last breath.
Mr Hussain said that the workers of the MQM know it very well that he was never ignored them. Altaf Hussain not only cares for the party workers but has ensured that the poor workers are elected in the assemblies instead of giving tickets to his brothers and sisters.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM has taken part in a number of elections in the past. A large number of people belonging to the MQM became members of national and provincial assemblies, senate and local bodies. There had been a significant number of ministers at the federal and provincial levels during this period. Some even attained to the positions of mayor and Nazim. Despite all this Altaf Hussain never made properties either in Pakistan or abroad.
Mr Hussain said that still he had only one house of 120 square yards in Karachi, and even this house was in the name of his mother. He challenged that there was no other leader in Pakistan, who had such a small property. The Nazim of Karachi changed the face of the city beyond recognition, but he did not give any bungalow to Altaf Hussain. Neither did Altaf Hussain make any demand from the Nazim.
Mr Hussain said he was happy that the people in Abbottabad were coming under the banner of the MQM after understanding its political philosophy. He said that the problems of the poor workers and labourers were common wherever they lived in the country.
Mr Hussain said that the bond of ideology was stronger than the bonds of family relations. The MQM workers across the world are tied in the unbreakable bonds of ideology and united as one family. He said that the message of the MQM was spreading in the country and people from all nationalities were coming in the fold of the MQM.
Mr Hussain said that the unity of poor and oppressed people in the country would bring a peaceful revolution in the country. People would be liberated from the shackles of feudal lords and a government of educated, honest and capable people belonging to the 98 per cent poor and middle-class people would be established in the country.
Mr Hussain directed the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM to start preparations for holding an MQM Convention in Hazara in March 2012. He asked them start contacting the workers and sympathizers of Hazara in connection with the convention.
Mr Hussain asked the office-bearers and workers of Hazara and Abbottabad to strengthen themselves to strong ideological footings and read party literature. He asked them to devote spare time for party activities instead of wasting it in useless activities. He told them to spread the message of truth and struggle for a peaceful public revolution.
