ALTAF HUSSAIN CALLS FAZLUR REHMAN

LONDON: 23RD DECEMBER 2010: 

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain called the head of Jamiat-e-Uluma-e-Islam (F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursay and discussed with him in detail the political situation of the country. Both the leaders agreed on taking bold steps for taking the country out of its present crises. They also agreed on increasing contacts between all the political parties in order to create national unity on important issues.

 

 

ALTAF HUSSIAN CALLS ZAFRULLAH JAMALI

LONDON: 23RD DECEMBER 2010: 

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain had an important telephonic discussion with Muslim League Leader and former Prime Minister Mir Zafrullah Jamali. Both the leaders talked about the present political situation in the country. Mr Altaf Hussain said that despite the passage of 63 years we have not been able to stand on our own feet. He said that the economy of the country was devastated because of the continuous loot and plunder of national exchequer and through unchecked corruption. “We are forced to carry a begging bowl throughout the world and our economic and financial policies were at the mercy of IMF and World Bank.

Mr Altaf Hussain proposed an All Parties Conference in order to create national unity for making country free from the clutches of foreign powers and for restoring national honour and self-esteem. Mir Zafarullah Jamali agreed with the suggestions of Mr Altaf Hussain and hailed his efforts towards achieving national unity on important issues by establishing contacts with other political parties. Both the leaders agreed on increasing the contacts in future.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN CALLS SAHIBZADA FAZAL KARIM

LONDON: 23RD DECEMBER 2010:

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain called head of Sunni Ittehad Council Sahibzada Fazal Karim and discussed with him the political situation in the country, internal and external threats to Pakistan, RGST, price-hike, menace of corruption and other issues being faced by the people. Mr Altaf Hussain said that the country was passing through difficult times and we had look up to IMF and World Bank for running the business of the state which had put a big question mark over the national honour and self-esteem. He said that those who were already paying taxes were being burdened through RGST while those who evaded taxes through unfair means were being given free hand. He regretted that the situation has come to pass where poor people were being forced to sell their children because of extreme poverty and were committing suicides because of hunger and want.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that it was time for all political and religious parties to show a sense of unity by setting aside their political differences.  “We must all rise to the occasion by working for national security and for freeing the country from the abyss of foreign debts in order to prove to the world that Pakistan is an honourable nation.” Sahibzada Fazal Karim agreed with Mr Altaf Hussain and said that some forces were trying to weaken the country hence we should defeat the conspiracies by making united efforts. He thanked Mr Altaf Hussain for his bold stance on police brutalities towards the participants of long march of Sunni Ittehad Council and asked for continuing the mutual contacts for national security.

 

ALTAF HUSSAIN WARNS AGAINST IGNITING SITUATION IN BALUCHISTAN

LONDON: 23RD DECEMBER 2010: 

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has condemned the arrest of Shah Zen Bugti, the grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti and leader of Jamhoori Watan Party. He said that the situation was Baluchistan was explosive and injudicious decisions could add fuel to the fire. He said that instead of taking action against the looters and plunderers of national wealth attempt was being made to fan the fire of hate in Baluchistan.

He said that the arrest of Shah Zen  Bugti could further deteriorate the situation and keeping in view the political situation in the country, steps should be taken to heal the wounds of the people of Baluchistan. He warned the government against taking actions that could ignite the situation in Baluchistan. He demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani to release Shah Zen Bugti and his men immediately.
