Today, in the third phase of the local bodies elections in Karachi and other major cities of Sindh Province, the MQM supported candidates for Naib Nazims in city, district, town, tehsil and taluka, won their seats with huge majority. Haq Parast candidate Mrs. Nasreen Jalil got elected as the City Naib Nazim for Karachi. She received 176 votes out of the total of 255. Similarly, in Jamshed Town Karachi, Haq Parast candidate Arif Ajaakia was elected with 12 votes whereas the opponent candidate supported by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) received 7 votes. From Baldia Town, Haq Parast candidate Mohammad Zahid got elected with 9 votes where his opponent candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam received 4 votes. From SITE Town Haq Parast candidate Badshah Khan was elected and received 7 votes and his opponent supported by JI, ANP and PPP received 6 votes. Furthermore, Haq Parast candidates for Town Naib Nazims from 11 other Towns, out of 18 Towns of Karachi were elected unopposed. In total, out of 18 Towns in Karachi, 14 Haq Parast Naib Nazims have been elected.
In the District Naib Nazim elections in Hyderabad, Haq Parast candidate Zafar Rajput was elected with huge majority. He received 58 votes out of total 75 votes, whereas, his opponent only received 9 votes. From Hyderabad City, Haq Parast candidate Shabbir Chishti and from Latifabad Taluka Haq Parast candidate Shuja Uddin were already elected unopposed as Taluka Naib Nazim.
From Mirpurkhas District, Haq Parast candidate Dr Zafar Kamali was elected as District Naib Nazim. He secured 34 votes out of 59 votes, whereas, PPP candidate received 23 votes. In Taluka Mirpurkhas, Haq Parast candidate Shafiq Ahmed got elected with simple majority. He secured 8 votes whereas his opponent received 6 votes. Similarly, from Taluka Sukkur, Haq Parast candidate Rizwan Siddiqui got elected by securing 10 votes from the total of 18 votes. In Taluka Tando Adam Shahid Sheikh got elected by securing 10 votes from the total of 15 whereas his opponent supported by PPP could bag just 4 votes. In District Qambar Shahdadkot Tehsil Sajawal Haq Parast candidate Aziz Ur Rehman was elected as Taluka Naib Nazim by securing 4 votes out of 7 votes.
