Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain in his New Year’s message to the nation
has said that this New Year is coming at a time when several countries of the
Southeast Asia Region have been devastated by the Tsunami earthquake that has
claimed more than 100,000 human lives and is increasing. A large part of the
earth has been affected resulting in unprecedented death toll and destruction.
He appealed to everyone in the world, particularly the people of Pakistan to
abstain from new year’s celebrations in this tragic times and to sympathise
with the family members of those who lost their loved ones and also to help the
victims. Mr Hussain again expressed
his heartfelt sympathies to the affected people of the Southeast Asia Region
including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Maldives and other countries.
He reiterated that he, all the workers of the MQM and the entire nation share
their grief and stand shoulder to shoulder with them during these testing times.
