Karachi 13 December 2001
Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder and Leader said that
serving humanity equals worshiping. He further said that politics
of personal interests and void of any service to humanity is
deception and dishonesty. Positive politics is based on
human welfare and serving distressed humanity. He was
addressing the Annual Aid Distribution Program of the Khidmat-e-Khalq
Foundation (KKF) in Karachi over the telephone from London.
Mr Hussain said that during the month of Ramadan
several religious organisations and political parties collect
funds to aid the needy. However, none of these political or
religious organisations arrange such annual aid programs on
regular basis. It is only the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM),
which has been organising such annual aid programs regularly for
the past twenty-two (22) years. He asked those present that
apart from the KKF, have they ever seen other parties, who
collect funds from public, providing aid in Thar and Baluchistan
to those affected by drought, natural calamities and disasters?
The volunteers of KKF visited the far-flung and remote areas of
Baluchistan, which are inaccessible through vehicles, and
provided exemplary services and aid to the drought affected.
Mr Hussain said that apart from Nazeer
Hussain Medical Centre, several other dispensaries of KKF have
been established in different parts of the city, which are
engaged in providing service to the common people. He said
that if the Establishment would have allowed us to work
throughout the country and would not have hindered our welfare
activities then perhaps KKF would have had branches in every city
of the country.
Mr Hussain said that the real joy and happiness of
Eid belongs to the children. But how could those children
celebrate Eid, orphaned as a result of the oppression of the
Establishment? He said that he could visualise those
children staring at their mothers and longing for new clothes.
The mother replies to the children to wait until their father
return home. The children continue to cry for new clothes.
How can the mother comfort and calm her children that their
father would never return as the oppressive personnel of the
Establishment have martyred him. He said that serving such
despaired, helpless and destitute people, caring for the orphans
and serving the humanity is the real worship. And if worship is devoid of service to humanity then
such worship has no meaning to the Almighty Allah. He
appealed to the philanthropist and generous people to come
forward and cooperate with the KKF.
Mr Altaf Hussain appealed to the President KKF, other Members,
MQM Deputy Convenors, Members of MQM Coordination Committee and
all the other departments that today no one should return empty-handed.
He instructed the MQM Coordination Committee not to forget the
martyrs and those who are imprisoned, on Eid Day. Visit the
houses of the martyrs and meet with their relatives. Visit
the prisons and meet with the incarcerated workers.
