ALTAF HUSSAIN ADVISES THE YOUTH TO TAKE KEEN INTEREST IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
London – 6th August
2004
While meeting a delegate of Pakistani students at the International Secretariat
in London, the MQM Founder Leader Mr Altaf Hussain stressed upon the need for
special attention towards acquiring education in Information Technology (IT) and
other modern subjects. Mr Hussain said that in the absence of information
technology in the past, people of one geographical area remained uninformed of
incidents occurring in other parts of the world. However, as a result of
advancement in scientific research and information technology, the entire world
has become a “global village”. Today we not only listen to but also
view live broadcast of any incidence, disaster or accident occurring anywhere in
the world while sitting in our homes. With the help of television, radio,
Internet and email any incident, disaster or accident is instantly broadcasted
throughout the world. The information technology and electronic media has made
the access of information very simple and today any incident or action by a
country, a government, an organization, or an institution in any part of the
world cannot be kept hidden from the eyes of the world. In the same manner, the
news of any act of suppression and crushing the “peoples power” through
brute force instantly spreads throughout the world. The information technology
has changed the pace of the world and influencing the way we lead our lives. He
said that computers are now part of our daily life and if we do not take special
interest towards acquiring computer technology then we will never come close to
the developed countries. He advised the youth, particularly students, to take
keen interest towards computer technology, modern education, latest scientific
researches and inventions.
