Two Muttahida activists gunned down in separate incidents

KARACHI: While police and other security agencies were on high alert owing to the presence of President Pervez Musharraf in the city, unidentified armed men gunned down two activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Nazimabad and Buffer Zone areas on Wednesday.
Adil Khan (30) was gunned down while he was passing from Sector 16-A Buffer Zone vicinity, near Mehran Bakery within the police limits of Sir Syed Town, police said.
Adil Khan who was a former unit in charge of Muttahida KBR unit, sustained bullets in his head and breathed his last on the spot. Later, his body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Another Muttahida activist, Abid Ansari (35), resident of Liaquatabad No 6 was shot dead in Nazimabad area.
Abid was an employee at a shop selling goods on instalments at Gol Market. He was at the shop when two armed motorcyclists entered the shop and shot him in the temple, killing him instantly.
