The act of pushing Baloch People to the wall must be stopped-Altaf Hussain

 The brutal murders of Baloch leaders Sher Muhammad Baloch shaheed,Ghulam Muhammad Baloch shaheed ,Lala Munir Baloch shaheed, Nawab Akbar Bugti shaheed and Balach Marri shaheed must be probed on judicial level and perpetrators must be brought to the book.

Address to the participants of protest rally organized under the auspices of MQM against the brutal murders of Baloch nationalist leaders

Leader of MQM, Altaf Hussain has demanded of the government that suicidal act of pushing Baloch people to the wall must be stopped and their pestering wounds must be healed and solid measures must be carried out in order to remove utterly prevalent sense of deprivation amongst them.

He very strongly condemned the cruel murders of Baloch leaders and termed the savage incident of their murders as a conspiracy to quell the voice of Baloch people for their rights and demanded of a highly level judicial inquiry into their murders forthwith and asked for exemplary punishment for the perpetrators.

Pakistan is passing through a very critical phase of its existence and the ONLY way to save the country is to accord total provincial autonomy to the federating units ie all the provinces of country, He passed these remarks while addressing telephonically to the participants of the protest rally organized by MQM at Mazar-e-Quaid who were gathered to hear his address in order to condemn the savage murders of Baloch nationalist leaders Ghulam Muhammad Baloch shaheed,Sher Muhammad Baloch shaheed and Lala Munir Baloch shaheed.

Lacs of people participated in the rally who hailed from various sects, religious backgrounds and nationalities and that included youngsters, elders, women and children from all walks of life and hues.

Mr.Altaf Hussain said that according to the information gathered from different sources by MQM, Leaders of Balochistan National Movement Mir Ghulam Muhammad Baloch, Lala Munir Baloch and Leader of Balochistan Republican Party Sher Muhammad Baloch were arrested and taken to an undisclosed location from the office of Balochistan’s Advocate Kachkol Ali and were subjected to severe kind of barbaric and brutal violence and then murdered and then their mutilated bodies were thrown in Turbat ( Balochistan )

He said this protest rally is being held to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Balochistan.On the Brutal murders of Baloch nationalist leaders, the MQM, its workers and Haq-Parast Public has given this message to the suppressed people of Balochistan by organizing this peaceful protest rally that MQM fully condemns barbarism and savagery in every nook and corner of Pakistan and always termed “oppression” as oppression and “cruelty” as cruelty.

MQM always raised its voice against the excesses committed against any nationality, race, sect and religion and will keep on doing it for all times to come.

Altaf Hussian said in today’s peaceful protest rally multitude of people participated wholeheartedly and they come from different ages, gender, sects, nationalities and religions and, thus, this peaceful rally is the true representative of the sentiments of the people of the entire country of Pakistan.

He said, by holding this peaceful and massive rally, Haq parast people have made it clear and shown to the people of Balochistan that they must never consider themselves alone in their trying moments and every Pakistani possessing a merciful heart is along with them in this hour of grief and sorrows.

He said when military operation was executed against people of Balochistan and elder Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was murdered then MQM protested to the fullest.

He said MQM feels the pinch of the people of Balochistan more so as its own hundred and thousands of workers were being subjected to extreme kind of violence in the operation as there eyes were taken out of their bodies, bodies were lacerated into pieces and they were martyred mercilessly.

Along with thousands of workers of MQM my elder brother Nasir Hussain and nephew Arif Hussain who both had nothing to do with MQM by miles were arrested and subjected to inhuman violence for three days and finally martyred in Gaddap area of Malir on 9^th of December,1995.

He further said that dozens of MQM workers are still missing who were arrested in front of their parents and there is no trace of them, hitherto.

He said likewise, many innocent and suppressed people were arrested and went missing and whose cases are running in the Supreme Court and no one knew whether they are still alive or martyred.

He demanded of Federal government and provincial govt: of Balochistan that arrest of nationalist baloch leaders-Sher Muhammad Baloch,Ghulam Muhammad Baloch and Balach marri Baloch, making them subject of inhuman treatment and then murdering them all must be probed through a fair high level judicial inquiry and those elements who have executed this gory crime must be taken to task in accordance with the constitution of Pakistan and must be given exemplary punishment irrespective of their belonging to any investigating agency or group so that no other official of any law enforcing agency could commit such a cruel act in future.

He lamented that Pakistan’s Political and religious parties which go for their political power and gains in the form of strikes and demonstrations adopt a lip service on such cruelties being perpetrated on innocent Pakistanis.

He asked why parties who have had been raising slogans for supremacy of law and justice are silent on this barbaric act against the people of Balochistan??

He appealed to the intellectuals,journalists,columnists and thinkers that they must come forward by raising voices against the barbarism being committed against people of Balochistan and create awareness amongst people through their pen by asking from those who are at the helm of affairs that where do they want to take our dear homeland?

He said, Pakistan had already been dismembered and if, GOD forbid, this brutal wave of savagery continued unabated then what future holds for the rest of the country?? Where are we heading for?? Which forces are bent upon creating conspiracies for the people of Pakistan and for the very existence of the country??

He said in my previous addresses and speeches I have had been forewarning the nation that our country is passing through an extremely critical phase and the utter need to reinforce solidarity and integrity in the rank and files of our jolted nation is being felt absolutely transparent than ever before

He said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani visited Balochistan and sought pardon on the injustices and deprivations meted out to the people of Balochistan in the past and pledged to rectify what was committed in the past.

He asked which kind of “rectification” is this that Baloch people, their leaders and workers are being eliminated mercilessly

Will this “pardon” serve the purpose that on the one hand, it is being sought while on the other workers and leaders of Balochistan are being murdered? He held the view that government must strive to establish which “forces” are responsible for these grievous acts

Mr.Altaf Hussain went on to say that in today’s rally hundreds of thousands of people have participated drawing from all religions,nationalities,sects and races and all are a unified symbol of protest against such  in human atrocities

He said savage murders of Baloch leaders is an incident of condemnation of highest level and the severe indignation found in the Baloch Public is quite natural

He said we are with the oppressed people of Balochistan wholeheartedly and praying that slain leaders find their place in heaven and further praying to Almighty GOD to save this country of ours from breaking into pieces in compensation of the blood of the martyrs.

He said all and sundry present in the rally here and me, by myself, demand of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister of Pakistan Yousuf Raza Gilani, Federal Advisor on internal affairs Mr.Rehman Malik and CM Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani to order for the probe of the brutal murders of Baloch leaders at the higher judicial level and the perpetrators be given exemplary punishment.

He said the sacrifices rendered by Baloch leaders have not been forgotten by Baloch people, nor will it be forgotten neither by Haq-parast Pakistanis nor by workers of MQM.

Mr.Altaf Hussain said that Balochistan National Party had given strike call and we had not only endorsed it but also appealed to the people of Punjab,NWFP and Sindh that by displaying black armbands on their arms they must show that they are equally participative in the grief of people of Balochistan

He said, I assure people of Balochistan that they must never consider themselves alone as MQM is with them, people of Sindh are with them, people of Pakhtunkhwah are with them and people of Punjab are with them as well as people of Kashmir and northern areas are with them and as such people of entire Pakistan are with them, so to say.

He said that it is quite evident from the murders of the leaders of the Balochistan who were struggling for the rights of their people that it is an attempt at suppressing their voice which they raised for their rights

He said utter sense of deprivation is already prevalent in Baloch people and with this brutal murder of Baloch leaders it will be deepened.

He said on the hand perils are looming large on the borders of Pakistan while on the other country is facing threats from dangers like Talibanisation and religious extremism.

He said in such circumstances the brutal murders of Baloch nationalist leaders is not only a conspiracy but also a plot to sabotage the national reconciliation process and that needs to be condemned in its strongest terms.

Mr.Altaf Hussain said whenever in the past Balochistan was made victim of suppression then MQM raised a voice of protest despite being part of the government against the military operation in Balochistan.

He said, MQM was dispatching a fact finding mission to Balochistan in order to expose the grave level of human rights violations over there to the human rights bodies which included journalists, members of the human rights organizations and intellectuals.

All the preparations had already been made and coaches were about to leave to Balochistan then, all of a sudden, leader of National Democratic party ( JWP) Shahid Bugti intervened and asked not to send the delegation and thus the mission was cancelled

Had our fact finding mission gone to Balochistan then government would have been compelled to stop the then continued military operation and murder of Nawab Akbar

Bugti could have been averted, too.

He demanded that alongwith Ghulam Muhammad Baloch shaheed,Lala Munir Baloch shaheed and Sher Muhammad Baloch shaheed the perpetrators of the brutal murders of Nawab Akbar Bugti shaheed and Balach Marri shaheed must also be brought to the book and be given severe punishment.

He said that Baloch people must not be pushed to the wall, their soaring wounds must be sewn and in order to remove their sense of deprivation concrete steps must be carried out on emergent basis.

The formula to save Pakistan is to provide provincial autonomy to Balochistan and other smaller provinces, concurrent list must be put to an end, only the portfolios of defense, finance and foreign affairs should be with federal government while rest must go to provinces and the rights of the provinces on their resources must be established and accepted in true letter and spirit.

He roared by pointing to the people at the helm of power that countries do remain intact through dispensation of justice and through injustices and excesses countries do cease to exist, hence, justice must be imparted to people if country has to be protected.

He said that he wanted to cruel know that MQM had not bowed before cruelty earlier and would never do it ever. In the line of struggle of Haq Parasti,our thousands of comrades/companions have had been martyred and we pay tributes to our martyrs.

He said we are certain that blood of our martyrs will not go to waste and revolution of justice will occur in our country of pure, soon.

MQM will not only save the country but also make possible for the downtrodden masses that their rights are fully secured and preserved constitutionally and genuinely.

He said MQM is against of any kind of religious extremism, terrorism and barbarism.MQM does not support discrimination against women and wants to give equal rights to them as that of enjoyed by males in the society and said we regard religious minorities as Pakistanis at par.

Mr.Altaf Hussain showered encomiums and tributes to all those workers, supporters, elders, mothers, sisters and members of coordination committee for holding such a mammoth rally on such a short notice
