I APPEAL TO THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN TO OBSERVE PEACEFUL “DAY OF CONDEMNATION”
ON SUNDAY, 5^TH APRIL 2009 IN PROTEST OF FLOGGING OF
INNOCENT GIRL IN SWAT – ALTAF HUSSAIN

 Mr Altaf Hussain, Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has vehemently appealed to the people of Pakistan to observe a peaceful “Day of Condemnation” on Sunday, 5 April 2009 against the flogging of innocent 17 years old girl in Swat by the barbaric terrorists’. He appealed to the people to hoist “Black Flags” and “Banners” on their houses, shops, industries and on their streets, lanes, roads and boulevards to register their peaceful protests.

In his statement, Mr Altaf Hussain said that the terrorists’ publicly flogged the 17 years old girl on fabricated charges and did not  pay any heed to her crying and wailing even her plea/prayers that she made in sheer pain. The terrorists whipped the girl by turning her over on charges of her coming out of the house of a stranger and travelling with her father-in-law while during lashing 3 strangers were holding her hands and legs and they did not even feel of themselves being strangers.

Mr. Altaf Hussain stated that those parents having daughters and brothers having sisters witnessed this horrendous act on the television must have felt as if their own daughter or sister were being subjected to this horrendous act.

Mr. Altaf Hussain has compassionately appealed to compassionate industrialists, businessmen, shopkeepers, Members of the Civil Societies, Human Rights Organisations, Journalists, Writers, Columnists, Poets, Authors, Students, Teachers, Righteous Religious Scholars and people of all walks of life including all parents of Pakistan having daughters and all brothers having sisters to hoist black flags and banners on their houses, shops, industries, factories, streets, roads and boulevards to register their peaceful protest against horrendous and barbaric act inflicted on 17 years old girl. He appealed to the people of all the 4 provinces, Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir to unite to demonstrate to the terrorists’ that the entire nation is united in the protest against the barbarism inflicted on the “Daughter of the Nation” and against their each act of terrorism and atrocities by staging a peaceful protest throughout Pakistan, Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir.

Muttahida Quami Movement’s Founder and Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the public flogging of a 17 year old girl in Kabal area of Swat by Taliban Terrorists, he said that the true face of self claimed custodians of Islam is again being exposed after the release of the video of this brutal act.

In a statement Mr. Altaf Hussain said that this act of Taliban Terrorists is against the teachings of Islam and Shariah in totality and they have ridiculed and mocked the Islamic values which should be condemned in all possible ways. Mr. Hussain said that Islam is a religion of Peace and the people of who are defaming Islam by committing these barbaric and gruesome acts are not only against Pakistan but the whole Islamic brethren.

Mr. Altaf Hussain demanded from the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and PM’s Advisor on Interior Rehman Malik to take urgent notice of publicly flogging of a girl in Kabal area of Swat, he also demanded that immediate and visible actions should be taken to end the misery of Swat people from Taliban Terrorists and their Non-Islamic Kalashnikov based black laws.

MQM welcomed suo-moto notice against barbaricism in Sawat

Muttahida Quami Movment’s Central Coordination Committee Welcomes the suo moto notice and constitution of a larger bench by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry regarding the brutal act of whipping in public of a 17 year old girl in Sawat.

The Rabita Committee also said that those responsible for this barbaric act were the Taliban of Swat, who have a rule of oppression and brutality in this region.

Central Coordination Committee of MQM appeals to the Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chuodry to summon leaders of the Tehreek-e-Taliban,Maulana Sufi Mohammad,Maulvi Fazlulah, Muslim Khan and others responsible persons in the Court.

The people responsible for this act of barbarism be given exemplary punishment by the

Supreme Court.
