PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN TO PARTICIPATE IN LARGE NUMBERS IN THE MUTTAHIDA RALLY ON 15 APRIL 2007 TO SAVE THE COUNTRY FROM THE CLUTCHES OF EXTREMISM – ALTAF HUSSAIN

MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the people of Pakistan in general and the people of Sindh in particular to participate in large numbers in the Muttahida Rally on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 2pm to show their solidarity and prove that they are liberal and reject the baton and kalashinkov shariat and religious extremism. He quoted the verse of the Holy Quran where the Allah Almighty proclaims, "Let there be no compulsion in religion". The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) never used baton, sword or any form of kalashinkov to spread the peaceful message of Islam. In fact he spread Islam through his character, practice, love, affection and peaceful preaching.
Mr Hussain appealed to people from all walks of life including righteous religious scholars, journalists, writers, intellectuals, human rights and women rights organisations, political workers, students, mothers, sisters and elders to come forward, save the country from the clutches of extremism and fanaticism and join the Muttahida Rally to show those who are presenting the distorted of image of Islam that the people of Pakistan vigorously reject the imposition of baton and kalashinkov shariat. He anticipated that the by the Will of Allah Almighty people will come out and join the Muttahida Rally in large numbers and prove that they believe in liberalism and tolerance and not religious extremism.
