WE FULLY SUPPORT THE AGHA KHAN EDUCATIONAL BOARD AND LADIES MARATHON RACE IN KARACHI – ALTAF HUSSAIN

The MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain has announced his full support for the creation of Agha Khan Educational Board in Pakistan. He said that in the 21^st century, Information Technology and progressive scientific knowledge is the only route to progress and prosperity. All those elements who oppose knowledge and technology are mentally living in the stone-age. There is no justification for opposing modern methods of knowledge and technology.  Under the existing educational system only the very rich benefit by providing an access to overseas education with in the country. The proposed Education Board will serve the middle class well.  Mr Altaf Hussain also condemned the stance of certain religious extremists against marathon race and other competitive sports by women in our society.  He said that opposition to such events is totally unreasonable and unjustified as it is women’s right to engage in such healthy activities just like men. In any case women population is higher than men in the country so they can democratically overrule any denial of their fundamental rights. Those who oppose women marathon do not really want women to progress and be enlightened.
